I have spent a significant amount of money on this game.  Why?  Because it was an awesome game and I planned to keep playing it for a long time to come.  I believe in supporting the devs, and the products offered were excellent.

Now, however, with the recent changes to carriers the game has become unplayable in any way that's fun and is very very far from awesome.  They have altered the product so significantly that I now regret all purchases I have made, and certainly would not have made them if the game had been in that state when I started playing.

Let's say you bought a car.  Let's say there was a mandatory recall on the car.  Let's say the manufacturer insisted that they were going to update your car in some awesome way.  Let's say that they took the car, "updated" it, and gave it back without any wheels.  Let's say they  insisted that the no-wheels car was the wave of they future (no, it is not a hover car now, which would be awesome).  YOU'D WANT YOUR &%*^#$@ MONEY BACK!

I know WG doesn't give refunds.  But crap, there has got to be something we can do about this.  So I'm asking for a refund anyway.

Your analogy is crap. You buy a car the dealer cannot steal your tires.  Thats theft.

Even a console game changes with updates and DLC. In Dark souls even if you did not buy the DLC you were attacked by people who got DLC weapons armor and spells and a defensive item that cancels those spells.

Or in Guild Wars 2 if you dont buy the expansions you do not get those weapons items or job classes.

In a game thats a live service say an MMO or a shooter things chancege. They nerf weapons in Call of Duty all the time for example

A worse example. Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar minature war games. You spend thousands on models, hundred on glue, hundreds on paint, time effort, your learn your rules you play your matches. A year, a month, a week later an FAQ or an errata and all your hard work is trash.  You need to buy more models kits to keep your toy soldiers comeptitive.

Bottom line - your money was well spent already you got your money's worth already. If the game is over for you thank you and take care. But your money was already well spent my friend.  Change happens. Nothing stays the same forever.  Besides

This is WOWS 0.8.0 and i love it more now than ever.  I even got my hakuryu three days ago and its amazing.

Now go play Fortnite or Minecraft or whatever you kiddos play these days. I am sure they "never" change games like that :p

I agree with Swift Scythe, I guess the people complaining of the changes must never have experianced the Games Workshop trap.

If you love the game and enjoy it. The best thing to do is be patient. It was a shock for just about everyone. Especially the majority who did not participate in the PTS. I think the AA is still in flux, and the CV's are still in flux some what. Will it go back to the old style? I doubt it. Just try to make the best of it. I would say it is a safe bet WG does not want it's fan base leaving. I did notice there are rewards in Co-op now. This is the first I've ever noticed that. It's the same ones usually only seen in randoms. A lot of people who used to play CV's such as myself are still training and learning in the Co-op mode.

Well I did enjoy the game until this "update".  I was actually in the US Navy and, although I was too late for WWII, I have studied many of the battles, especially in the Pacific theater.  While CVs demonstrated that they were absolutely the top dog of the warships of the time, they still had many issues and needed many escorts to keep them afloat.  The game was reasonably balanced between the accuracy of ship play, fun and controllability.  Now it is not.  Especially as concerns the use of BBs and CVs.  I just finished a battle in which my BB was torpedoed eleven times from four different directions, during which my supposedly wonderful, beefed up AA was able to on down two planes.  That is unrealistic.  The addition of rockets to the attack planes, the ability of a squadron to drop only two torps from one direction before altering to another and dropping two more and so on has made the BBs unplayable.  You can't attack other ships while constantly attempting to dodge torps from ten or more planes from two CVs all concentrating on you.  Chances are I will still play this game from time to time to see if it improves but I used to play every day, and that will likely never happen again unless major changes are made in the balance of ship power.  A good start would be to limit the battles to no more than one CV.  Actually beef up the AA on the capital ships so they stand a chance at downing more than a minor few planes.  Make the planes actually have to fly back to the CV instead of magically reappearing there.  Give them a reasonable delay to refuel and rearm before they can launch again.  In other words make it more like real air-sea combat.  If you don't you will soon find that no one except CV commanders want to play any longer and what good is a 12 CV on 12 CV battle anyway?

Now that I've calmed down a bit, here's what I think the problem is.

The issues I'm having is that CVs are basically a pure spotter now. They do minimal damage, but since there are infintie planes and no more fighters  two CVs can keep almost the entire enemy team perma spotted. This pisses off everybody, and in the case of DD it's game breaking, while CV players can have either a boring game doing nothing but spotting, or a rage inducing game as their squadrons get 1-shotted every time they try and attack anything, and do almost zero damage even if they do manage a few hits

Remember that part where you clicked through the Terms of Service without reading them? They say you don't get a refund just because you don't like the way the game went.

Eventually, the game will be shut down. Hopefully not for a long time, but eventually. You don't get your money back then either.

Sorry, I know I'm being an [edited] here, but this is deal with basically any online game.

Anyways, it's not like WG and their developer want people to hate the new CVs. They will work to try to address people's problems.
