Rebalancing/Fixing AA may not solve all the problems but what could make balancing AA easier is to add 2 extra fighter consumables to CVs

1-Create 3 Fighter Squadrons for CVs-T1-T2-T3

2-CV player can launch 2 Squadrons with T3 being a small reserve

2-CV players can assign the fighters 1 of 5 missions and reassign missions as needed

Area Defense—Fighters defend a given space

Patrol-Fighters attack anything in the patrol area

Point Defense-Fighters defend a particular ship

Escort-Fighters Support a strike

Self Defense-Fighters defend CV

Squadron Sizes

For TIER 4-àT1 6 aircraft-T2 6 Aircraft-T3 3 Aircraft

For TIER 6/8/10àT1 8 aircraft-T2 8 Aircraft-T3 4 Aircraft

ideas anyone?

I would prefer better and more predictable AA then more fighters..

AA is utilized when fleet defense by fighters fails. The other issue is that they wont be able to balance the AA. Right now T8-10 AA is too strong and T4-6 AA is too weak. The problem with the fine tuning is I seriously doubt they can do it because even a minor nerf to AA at T8-10 and CVs become OP. Fighters are needed because that's what CVs are supposed to do. The AA can be made bit weaker but give the CVs 2 fighters to defend the fleet. It was stupid to make a patch with no fighters which the CVs can use for defending there team. The weaker AA means CVs become effective and they could probably use a alpha buff small one and everything starts to balance out. Go play tier 6 and you will get massacred by CVs and your gonna really wish they had fighters to protect u. Fighters need  to be brought back because they should never have been removed in the first place
