The new carrier rework pretty much sucks!

 

I'm in an American cruiser with fighters and defensive AA. The match is a double carrier game and I cannot shot down one damn plane. My ship is spotted the whole time so the battleships focus me down very quickly!

 

What fun is this??? Its not!!

 

Explain War Gaming how this is suppose to be fun and engaging?

 playing now i agree, the cv are worst now, terrible and tedius gameplay

Tedius gameplay to fly in every giant map,
no strafes to kill enemy players or nice fights.
After 2 minutes fly in the tedius map,  an encounter AAs kill your entire squadron .....sux....
controls system to use torpedos, rockets and bombs camera/aim sux a lot.

I agree that the rework is a major difference.  The T7 Ranger was my favorite ship to play.  Now it is the T6 Ranger and I have not been able to adapt to the new controls.  I can get rocket hits but only 2 torp hits and no aerial bombs in almost 50 games. 

Since the rework I have been driving T9 Fletcher and shooting down planes.  I have no idea how to activate AA sectors but I still shoot down planes.  At the same time planes spot me and every ship in range focuses fire on me.  I rarely survive more than 4-5 mins. 

I play the game for fun.  Its not fun any more.  At least not to me.

I agree manually flying planes all the time just to get shot down by AAA before I can launch any weapons sucks.  The aiming system from the planes is hard to master or even keep a good view of the target most of the time.  If I wanted to only fly planes against ships I'd be better off playing a flying game like World of Warplanes instead.  Undo the carrier change, it is not new and improved at all.

The sector manual AA is to complicated! Just simply select the squadron of planes coming towards your ship like the original version! I'm taking a break from random until it get resolved!

I am just impressed that all the carriers can outrun nearly half the ships in the game, they are slower than DD's but that's about it.  I can't keep up to a carrier running away in a light or heavy american cruiser.  WG still hasn't fixed the rendering issues.. in and out, in and out, when in range and nothing between, truly impressive.  All this work on carrier play, and can't fix the basics.

If people wanted to play world of warplanes they could just download world of warplanes and play it, world of warships cv play has become world of discount warplanes, stack'em deep sell'em cheap, and they will die soon after a bb or dd sneezes  in their general direction.. You nerfed the cvs then you went a decided to nerf cvs some more?  . Why play carriers if they can do nothing? why are they even in the game? Do you hate cvs or something? The Japanese tier 10 cv was buffed to hell and back while the american cv's were nerfed into oblivion, and that was back in the RTS days. I actually miss the old RTS system, and the last thing I would want is the removal of cvs from the game...  But because of ONE CV  was over powered all CVs must suffer?  That is stupid reasoning.. When I played my langley back in the day  of rts I actually was able to contribute now days very few if anyone plays cvs..  You should have nerfed only the over powered one.. I am now tempted to go back to my old role of a cruiser captain, because the cvs aren't exciting sure I have been trying to like the cv, but If you keep nerfing the cv you will have had the opposite effect of removing the RTS, element. 

Nobody wants to be bored to hell, while not being able to contribute to their side winning...  Ships are so much more simpler to play with, than your world of discounted warplanes knock off..  For what little time i spent with the RTS system will be the few moments i will treasure the most  from your half baked game..  Carriers used to carry, but now they frustrate and they rust for a lot of players...   And that is the truth, whether you choose to agree or not is irrelevant..  2019 Year of the CV? Or the end of the CV? To think that it all happened in one week..BAD REWORK PATCH IS BAD..

Yay, Infinite aircraft! Oh wait

A single battleship crossed the entire map under constant bombing runs, torpedo runs and rocket runs. and UNESCOURTED it shot down all our [edited]aircraft and then laughed as it took us out.

Please let them change it back to the RTS mode. at least I could bring in multiple squadrens at once and overwhelm a single lone ship. Now the game gives me unlimited aircraft, all the better to force feed them to the enemy as they are pitifully useless now.

 

Lets not forget that the new torpedo bombers randomly choose an angle from 90 degrees to the left or 90 degrees to the right. Its almost a positive in a way because when using torpedo bombers I don't have to aim anymore, there is no god dam point! Sometimes they Might go straight, Sometimes they might go sideways! but they will NEVER go on target!

I played world of warships because the Aircraft Carrier RTS was fun and unique. Even paid for membership for a few months to help me level up my carriers. Now Its a worthless class of ship in a game with nothing interesting about it

Real life fleet CV's were not slow. Even the Iowa's can't keep up with USN Fleet CV's, they were just the fastest battleships available, so they got the CV escort duty eventually. One of the biggest limitations on carrier groups was the CV's not outrunning the escorts in most sea conditions.

IJN CV's, except the smaller conversions, Kaga and Shinano, were as fast or even faster.
