Looking at the past: Solo W/R

8/24/16 1,172 battles   43.34% W/R

Looking at the present

1/16/19  11518  battles  50.78%  W/R

Not quite a mountain, but no longer a stone.

So to celebrate:

What is the most important thing you have learned along this journey?

To paraphrase a general:  You fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

how did you pull your stats? I have been trying to get a better idea of my improvement / isolate the last 500-1000 games WR but the websites I am using don't offer that kind of input.

For the the whole period I used the warships today site. Just move the cursor over the curve.

WoWs stats and numbers site gives you a progress table for shorter time frames.

Personally I've found doing more damage to them than they do to me works pretty good.

And staying alive.

Umm, generally they start as a tectonic plate pushing into another plate until one is forced up into ripples.  Unless they start as a volcano.

Nice work, tho.

Actually, the tallest mountain starts with two continents slamming into each other.  Glacial erosion also helps.  Not sure how you can apply that to your situation, however.

Perhaps he should have said Rome wasn't built in a day instead.

Well, the tallest mountains arise from the floor of the pacific, and they started out as bulges in the ocean floor, or perhaps as fissures in the ocean floor, from which lava and cinders/ash poured.

Also - usually a stone doesn't "grow" into a mountain, more often mountains get eroded into stones (specifically quite a large quantity, or dust alternatively depending on time period and method of erosion).  But that said, improvement is good.  Wish I could say the same.  My stats went up fairly fast in closed beta, then went back down as the quantity of players increased.  I never claim to be good - I'm a firmly average player who gets lucky sometimes.  I've had a few 200k games, a lot of 100k games, and a lot of "whoops I $^*& up" 10k games.  True then, true now.

I may have gotten very slightly better lately, it took me from buying into the closed beta to late last year to have my first 200k game, I've had like 5-6 in the last 3-4 months.

The tallest mountain is made of limestone, dolomite and marble  - it started as marine organisms.

I don't think that you quite understand how geology works.

The tallest mountains happened because India went for a ramming kill against Asia.

Most fissures are at the surface, so they are well above the ocean floor, and they use nets or poles, lines, and hooks.  However, there are some spear fissures that get a bit closer to the ocean floor, at least in the shallower areas.  Not sure how that ties into mountains, though.  :Smile_hiding:  :Smile_teethhappy::Smile_hiding:

Mountains (or more accurately boulders) growing from stones is actually a very poetic expression from Japanese mythology, it is even expressed in the Kimigayo, their national anthem:

May your reign
Continue for a thousand, eight thousand generations,
Until the pebbles
Grow into boulders
Lush with moss

Now you can all say you learned something today.

Clearly, noone in this thread fed and watered their pet rocks and got to watch them grow into  beautiful mountains.
