Ladies and gents the Atlanta can still swing it with the best. Man do I love this ship.

Not the greatest game in terms of damage and kills but there is something oh so satisfying when you finish top of the pile when you are bottom tier.

2.5k base xp, from wrecking dds who think its a good idea to sit in smoke and touching bbs from behind islands in all the bad places ;).

I saw "original machinegun" and was disappointed this wasn't about the St Louis.

The Atlanta is my Daka Daka Daka Daka baby. Under 500hp holding the left mouse button down I have a constant rainbow going on enemy ships

No one said it had to be fully automatic in the modern sense but if you want to be picky we will move up to the Maxim gun of 1884.

Ehh the Gatling gun fired fast, not a machine gun and not the first hand cranked, quick firing gun. It was the first magazine fed one, the Pickel gun from the 18th century (offered to the Continental Army during the Revolution) was a "gatling" type gun except she was a muzzleloader.  Just an aside, the fact that the writers of the Constitution understood this gun existed and did not outlaw private ownership of it, pretty much destroys the anti gun argument about destructive weapons in the hands of the people.......

EDIT: Puckle Gun, sorry my memory is crap. Also it technically was not a muzzleloader, the cylinder was removable like a black powder revolver...

Sorry, did not mean to offend. Known far too many people who think Gatling guns are full auto

None taken and I should have put a smiley into my response.

When you get down to it the Gatling gun is a lot like our modern rotary cannons except we use of motor of some sort to operate them.

Its not only the motor, but also the firing action that differentiates modern rotary cannons from the original Gatling.

This video gives a pretty good explanation of the GAU systems.

Finally took mine out for a PVP match the other day and uh...dude.  I mean this thing is going to melt if anything so much as sneezes in its direction but the sheer amount of harassment I was putting out is probably illegal in like forty eight states.  As much as I hate the island humping strategy,  it was very effective in this little puppy.
