How much do we know about xp gain in WoWs?

I know that:

  • xp is given out for ribbons, spotting, capping, defending, achievements, and damage (source:http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Economy#Experience)
  • The vast majority of xp comes from damage, with damage to ships of lower health and higher tier giving more rewards
  • xp is modified for a win/lose/draw, with a win being more and draw/loss being equivalent

But:

  • What is the modifier for a win/loss? It seems like it's somewhere between 1.5x and 2.0x for a win over a loss/draw.
  • It seems unclear how capping xp works. I've heard that it's a multiplier for xp gained through other means. Is it a set amount for each cap gained, or does it change with cap time? Does how many caps your team takes affect the xp from each individual cap you take?

Anybody have any sources or info about this?

The xp is based on percentages. You can do 20k damage to DD and 20k damage to a BB, yet you will get far more xp from the first since you did 80/90/100% his health. 20k damage to a BB is a fire with the HE raw damage on top or a couple of  torps, nothing too crazy.

win=1.5.

I don't know if each cap is the same, or if subsequent caps are of less value than the first cap.

A win gives a 1.5X multiplier, so wins are more important than farming that last kill and risking a loss.

First cap is worth more than subsequent caps for XP.

Damage to ships is % based.   You get XP based on the percentage of damage done to a ship.  So, farming a BB for 40% over several minutes can net you very little damage compared to a single shot to a DD that does 50% damage.  Damage to higher tier ships is worth more XP than to lower tier ships. 

A kill is worth 15% of the full ship XP value.

The exact values of XP awarded are hard to nail down.  There are lots of other XP related calculations, but the list is long and convoluted.  The above are the easy ones to explain.
