Just a thought, with the CV rework, who will deal with badly and/or passivly played enemy ships, now that carriers are being relieved of the responsibility of deleting superfluous surface nuisances? With the RTS gamplay style, CVs, have had a specific role, by design or by accident, of removing players from random battle games who fail to employ teamwork, or very basic skillsets. Without a replacement (submarine cancer is not ready for implementation yet), will this mean a decline in the quality of random battles?

Well yolo'ers will still get deleted from concentrated fire from the opposing team and bow campers will typically get farmed by HE spammers as per tradition. CV's never really caused or solved any of these problems, just created different ones.

True, but concentrated fire and HE spam is slow, and inefficient compared to an airborne one strike dev strike. HE spam farmers will indeed be happy at the coming nerf to government by CV.

Any ship with spotter plane is capable of raining down plunging fire of s bow tanker.

This is a myth that players like to spread. CVs are good at removing ships out of the game, thats it. Doest matter if that ship is working wiht the team or not. You can be helping the team a lot, but be far away and the CV will punish you. You can be right in the middle of your team and CVs can also punish you. CVs just make ships play even more passive because they need to stay togheter to overlap AA and not get deleted.

Yolos and campers are already easy to punish with other tools we have.

Cvs will be fine. The dmg per strike is alot lower. Missing a drop or getting planes shot down. While not crippling will make the cv useless for 3mins while he hets another flight airborn.

Dive bombers are alot harder to kit with due to the small drop window and torp planes drop only 3  at a time with lower flood chance and less dmg per torp. Now a cv has less impact on the game, they only have the ability to get one wing up at a time

Perhaps a more positive approach might be to fix MM. When you are the only T8 light cruiser against all T10 opponents I cant think of any other way to survive the first half of a match than to point your bow. Grab your [edited]cheeks and pray to your deity of choice.

Which seems to be the majority of them at the higher tiers.

It would be going too far to describe some of these elements as "life", except in the context of gardening.

Exactly.

What reason is there to play them then after the new shiney wears off?

Everything else but carriers still has at least a chance to devstrike; from what I’ve seen so far that ability has been removed from carriers.

It's more a manner of speech rather than an accurate comparison :Smile-_tongue:.
