The Lion class British T9 battleship is a really good battleship I noticed, compared to most of the other T9's in the game.

I find that the ship itself works very well. The 419mm guns are hard hitting with both AP and HE. I use AP when I fight a cruiser or broadsided battleship. The British HE works very well to your advantage if you have to resort to it when fighting an angled battleship or a destroyer. My main complaint about these guns are the firing arcs, range and dispersion, but overall battle performance is still very good with them. The ship is also equipped with a standard issue British Cloaking device, allowing you to back out of situations easily and heal back up or sneak somewhere else. This cloaking device has worked very well to my advantage and the 11.5km detection for a battleship is just pure ridiculous.

The Lion-Class is also equipped with that portable shipyard found on British cruisers tier 8+ which has allowed me to stay alive in battles well and earn me lots of Dreadnought and Fireproof medals. I often take damage that can even be twice my health (Real damage, not potential) and still survive the battle. Are you on 10k health? No worries, with the new British Portable shipyard, you can get back to 75% health!

I feel like a lot of people waste the potential of the higher tier British Battleships by just staying in the back and farming damage with HE. While this gains them a high damage counter, their win rate is low, even though the ships in theory should be very very capable of winning battles. Most of these people don't realize the potential of their cloak which allows them to get in close to the enemy and sneak up, or their repair party that allows them to survive tons of damage that any other battleship otherwise would've succumbed to. The Lion fits my semi-defensive/offensive playstyle well due to it's cloak and mini-shipyard. If I'm in a bad situation, I angle myself away from the enemy team while keeping my guns on target, and mess around with the throttle. This allows me to keep a respectable firing distance from the enemy, from enemy torpedoes and allow me to retreat if needed, while at the same time I'm not too far away from the front where I would be completely useless. Whenever I do get the opportunity, I take advantage of the ship's heals to regain health and move in close supported my teammates to quickly strike at the flanks of enemy capital ships. This allows me to achieve just as high average damage value while keeping a high win-ratio.

I'd still say that the Alsace was a more fun ship to play, but not by much. The Lion is also more fun to play than the Missouri and Iowa in my opinion.lion.thumb.png.06d5e0dc4d5af4b8078dcbf3abb4dc16.png

The Klingons are calling.  They want their cloaking device back.
