ive seen pictures with 2 CV's per team in the PT.....

1 was more than enough so now they try to make it 2 CV's per side?

yup not playing randoms anymore till they dial it down to 1. or maybe thats just for the PT

Keep in mind that those 4 CVs will still have less plane groups in the air than even 2 Langleys could have put up in the old way.

One plane group in the air per CV.  That's all.

Also keep in mind those 2 CVs never run out of planes like the old CVs did.

Farazelleth was streaming (it's up on YT now) PTS Random games in which there were up to 4 CV's per side. This is probably to allow as many people into carriers as possible while the PTS is running, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that toned way down when it goes live.

Those vids are very instructive and enlightening. You should go watch.

In lower tiers,  yeah.  I THINK at T9 and up its only one per side.

Yes.  You don't see it much any more due to low interest in CVs, but it happens. 

Fortunately I think that no-fly-zone cruisers will still sort of work; I watched @Flambass try to harrass a Worcester in the PTS and it seemed like he was wasting his time and planes.

From my experience on PT, the new CV gameplay is more quantity over quality.  Sure, you can put a hurt on someone during a pass, but I dont think you can really do things like delete a tier 8 BB in a single run like you can now...even using multiple passes.  The armaments on the planes just dont have the punch they do now.  They sting, but it's not a full to dead scenario like it can be now (except for DDs of course).

I still think 2 CV limit per team is a good idea though.  Any more than that and it's essentially a bunch of boats paying more attention to Aircraft than they are to each other.  Even saw on test, 2 ships rammed each other and died because they weren't watching the water, they were trying to dodge planes.

Overall I think the CV play got brought down to other ships levels, while also making them useful the entire match if alive.  They will have an impact, but once players start to realize that CVs cant 1 shot them anymore...hopefully we get back to world of warships and not missile command.

True but the total number of squadron sorties they are able to get off with only a single squadron up at a time is its own limit.

Actually more. My last one on PT was three on a side. Its zero fun.

Plane groups yes, but some of those groups were fighters. All the plane groups of PTS sky parasites were attack groups.

The reduced number of planes in the air, or their low alpha isn't all that matters, because the new CVs seem to be capable of just as much damage as before.  The big difference is that pretty much any random player can now be capable of the same damage output of unicum CV players now.

maybe there should be Midway Matches.  The MM randomly sticks all the CVs in the queue into all CV matches.  Toss in a few BOTs for DD and CA escorts.

That is only true if they are able to apply that damage.

That, or you're seeing the equivalent of Match Maker having a stroke with more CV's queing than anything else, and the ironclad hard cap is no longer there. Won't be a problem after day 2 or 3.
