FYI, the smoke stack actually lead to a hole in the citadel which I did it against a Montana on a Minotaur. And with your floating shells, you can actually hit the turret belt/deck and flung into citadel.

It's not a bug, it's called an 18-inch shell. Recall from those geometry classes you took in high school that increasing the diameter of a cylinder vastly increases its volume. From personal experience in the field artillery, I can tell you that a 203 mm (8") shell is twice as heavy as a 155 mm (6") shell, though the larger is only two inches greater in diameter. 16-inch shells weighed 2700 pounds but the 18-inch shells weighed 3218 pounds. That's like taking a 16-inch shell and strapping onto it two 8-inch shells.

"406 mm/50 Mk7" -- that's 16 inch. 18 inch is 457 mm (actual diameter was 46 cm, a bit larger than 18 inches).

As a proud owner of a Musashi I can positively report that 16" shells can and will lolpen your citadel from the front!

The example from the OP is the Missouri citadeling the Musashi, not a Musashi citadeling another Musashi.

Ok, all I heard was "Mushashi."  You can citadel a BB bow on though, several have a weak spots just under the front turrets.

Here is a picture of the Montana's armor. There is a tiny spot where its only 102 mm right above the citadel. Not to mention that shells might land slightly left and right of the turrets too.
