For some reason, I feel like things change when I join into a division with a friend. I do so much better in the game when im not divisioned up with a friend. Does something change with the matchmaker when you are with someone? If so then why does the change feel so drastic?

Tanks don't swim very well. You should division up with another ship.

I seriously doubt the TOG II floats, despite what Jingles wishes. But I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the British sub line:Smile_teethhappy:

The thing that changes is that two or three people are working together.

Ok...thats the obvious change...what about to the matchmaker? For some reason the skill of the opposing team goes up because I have a harder time dealing with them than when im alone. Is it just bad luck when that happens?

Nothing changes with the MM, it is still tier and type matching.

Though one notable change is the MM will pair you with an opposing division if it is in the queue.

That is true but it still works on a type and tier match.

There is a psychological aspect to divisioning that makes one tend to want to perform better to impress their friends or makes one do stupid stuff because it's funny.  There is also pressure to adapt to how your friends play, which takes you out of your comfort zone.  Also, if you're a potato and you play with potato friends, your potatoness is exacerbated.
