It would seem that, since update dot11 or thereabouts (maybe earlier), the bots in PvE are having problems avoiding the multitude of bloody islands that now seem to be on every map.

WG, you need to reprogram them so that they can navigate properly.

It's all fine and dandy when the enemy ships do it. When an objective ship that you have to escort ends up on an island, such as in Raptor Rescue or in Hermies, the objective ship takes a lot of time before it can move again, if at all. Often we have to get out and push to get it dislodged. And then we end up missing the clock. :Smile_amazed:

Weird crap going on in Ops today.

 Aegis had the second wave and liberty convoy hit early, as in before we even had a chance to kill the first wave. Not a team of randoms either, we're talking very experienced 6 man div with one pubbie.

Dynamo we were getting Penalty bombers without anyone being away from the evac ships. Nothing surprises like being no more than a KM or 2 from the evac ships for the entire match and getting whacked by the most accurate dive bombers in the game.

in a bot battle earlier, i watched as two bots on opposite teams rammed opposite sides of an island repeatedly trying to get to each other.

that or there was something else going on that i cannot unsee. but i'll remain in denial and tell myself they were just blind.

Don't agree; even in Co-op, it takes away any challenge at all when the things are trying to drive forward through the rock-face or are desperately steaming in reverse to extricate themselves.

Interesting. A common  botfail is when two of them just circle the island opposite each other, especially if it's in the middle of a cap.

I noticed this last night as well. Two ships banged into islands along the same channel. It was laughable as I sat back about 16 clicks away and pounded both with HE from a Salem. Some of the easiest damage farmed in a long time.....

I have also seen that they will (literally and repeatedly) try to shoot through the island.....

Bot sometime shoot and hit me in smoke even if I am NOT detected. And I was not detected before.

AI also seems to get confused when multiple targets are within range.  I watched an AI BB rapidly try to switch between targets and not shoot for over 2 minutes.

Watched a DD bot on Ageis last night run into an island at the start of the match, first wave of ships, and there he just stayed.  Weird, in the last wave, the bots all seemed to be taking random paths, turning for no reason.  People should take lessons on not sailing in a straight line from them.  Fortunately it meant they didn't really close to attack the convoy either, which worked in our favor, considering there were only 2 of us left at that point.
