STEAM UPDATE OF WOW CAUSING FREEZE

Okay just went into play a several minutes ago . Turns out steam need to install an update .

After update went into game synced with port no problem played a co-op game no problem went back to port clicked on ship then frozen , used ctrl alt delete to task manager to stop game..

Went to steam and validated files. PASSED.

 

Tried game again but same thing except crashes upon entering port from start..

 

Sent in a ticket... made a comment on steam forum for what it is worth..now here

Having the same issue post-update. Also sent in a ticket. Mine freezes right after I've gotten out of the queue and can see who my teammates and opponents are.

Also, I'm a Windows 10.

ok good, its not just me then. when i go to open wows it starts to load, and then freezes on the screen, or crashes. it tells me to click a link to send a report, but its not in english.

 

btw i restarted my computer, and no change.

I'm having the same issue as junkie, with a twist--I tried to start a co-op game in my Salem, program crashed and locked up on hitting the queue.  Hard restarted my computer, and relaunched WOWS only to have the program try to get me to rejoin the first game, and crash each twice. That round ended, and I pulled out my Smith. Had a great game in it so I decided to retry the Salem thinking it was a random glitch. Same thing happened again. I waited until I was sure the round had ended to relaunch the app....to find out I was now pink for being AFK. wth WarGaming? I can still play my Smith just fine, but am hesitant to try anything else lest I get pinked for even longer.

Since being pinked I have played two consecutive rounds in the Smith without a problem, and also, running Win10

I too am having this issue.  Started game fine, played a match no problem.  When I switched ships to my Baltimore it crashed while loading the ship in the port.  Restarted game, crashed while loading ship in port.  Restarted game, immediately switched ships and loaded port fine.  Switched to Baltimore and crashed while loading ship in port.  Cleared cache, Uninstalled, Reinstalled.  Now the port wont even load enough to switch ships, game immediately crashes.

Mine isn't even loading via steam, hoping it is just a validation issue given steam pre-patches the game before the server is patched. Will check it tomorrow once the server restarts.

Is it possible that this problem is being caused by a mismatch between the server & installed client version (I.e. this is the issue that prevents replay files from being played when updates occur - recorded replays on an older drop won’t play after an update & manifests as a crash)?  

The WG servers don’t complete their update to 7.12 until 5 am PST (starts at 2 am), but it appears Steam is allowing the 7.12 client to already be distributed.  There is a 5 hour “problem” window if Steam started the client upgrade download at midnight PST (using the WG downloader doesn’t have this problem since the startup client won’t allow this early download until the servers have been updated).  

While waiting for responses to your trouble tickets - try again after 5-6 am PST Thursday when the WG servers have updated & see if your client is now working.

Aaaand two more games in the Smith without a problem. Is anyone else noting a problem with HIGH tier ships, but not low tier?

Same happened to me, in my still-shiny-new FdG. I'm on Win 7, BTW.

It seems the Steam forum for WoWs is kind of... busy with people posting about the crash after the update.

Except this problem never happened before. In the past, I have downloaded an update through Steam couple hours ahead of actual implementation of the said update, but the game worked just fine with the older version until the server went down.

Something prolly went ka-poot with this latest update and Steam.

I've had the game crash twice when going into a random match.

Using Steam

OS = Win10

Was using my tier 7 Nagato

Having been pinked twice now from this issue I can't even join a random match :Smile-angry:

Seem to be able to play tier 5 Ok

Oh, great. After clicking on the help link in that link it's now got me going to the Russian site and won't let me change back to the North American.

 

Even when I specifically put in the address https://na.wargaming.net/personal/

Yep, happens all the time to me. Then, WoW penalizes my, claiming that I left he game early, and pinks me. This just sucks.
