Where the heck is the Admiral Marakov?!?!?!  Not in the Christmas boxes?!?!?!  You can get a Gremy, but not a Marakov.  The new unicorn of the sea?

A copy/ paste of th Nurn. If you want a Soviet trainer there are a lot more interesting options.

Originally a promo ship I believe.  Haven't seen anything on it since last April/May timeframe.

"Admiral Makarov was first released for sale on the NA, EU, and Asia servers on 20 December 2017."

Ashitaka?   I see very few... rolled mine out yesterday and had a player ask if it was in testing?   It is my theory that it is not rare just so bad that few actually play it!   LOL  :Smile_hiding:

Honestly, I'm surprised that it didn't get included in the list of ships available in this year's Santa boxes.

You really aren't missing much.

Its essentially the Nurnburg with a red star painted on.

I saw it for doubloons and grabbed it, but...yeah.

Still explodes at the slightest glance in her direction.

Nurnburg is great though.

Yeah, especially when they show anything resembling a broadside.  So light and crunchy on the outside, so soft and chewy on the inside.  Yum!!!

Yeah I almost never see them and like you when I take mine out I get asked a lot what it is LOL. With that said I think the Op might be right that Admiral Makarov might be even more rare. Can't remember the last time I saw one other than my own? I see Ashitaka occasionally at least.

Maybe it will be back for Christmas again this year like with last year.  Snagged mine then. It was originally offered as part of a russian mobile phone company thing-and would be removed if you were no longer using that service.

Have Nurnberg but don't play it much so Marakov made no sense to buy. Like so many, I can't recall the last time I saw her in game...

This is one I regret not purchasing last Christmas for doubloons.

Basically when I got mine. Even better I could get it with dubs from the tree and not get it with the useless captain that comes from the shop or a Christmas container.

Still using Colorado with the same captain I launched her with.

Running my Ashitaka (purchased useless captain-free with dubs through the tree,) and Massachusetts right now for the Gold Rush missions.

My shtick seems to be unpopular ships, so maybe I need to take Makarov out for a spin. Probably do pretty good.

The bottom line according to Miss Mouse ... cracked me up.

That about covers it. I take it out once in a plaid moon and pray I get a map with lots of terrain.

Ashitaka is another beast entirely since her buffs.

I keep Isoroku on mine. Although the noises he makes tend to get me dead from laughing too much to concentrate.

WoWs Numbers (not the most accurate source), indicates Admiral Makarov has 15.6k matches... least among it's counterparts at T6.  Huanghe is double that at 32k matches.   Pretty rare indeed.

Makarov? Ashitaka? Albany?

...

Varyag?

It's either a ship that is terrible, or is too low tier and not enough fun for anyone to play it. According to NA statistics:

Spoiler

Diana has T2 with 39,451 battles.

Dreadnought has T3 with only 667 battles... for now. The long-term answer is Oleg at 13,122 battles, or Charleston's 1,075 if you consider that 'available.'

Ishizuchi has T4 at 570,866 battles. It's the only non-pulled T4 premium.

Krasny Krym has T5 with 53,666 battles. Shocker.

West Virginia 1941 has T6 at only 3,965 games, far less than Admiral Makarov's 15,608 battles.

Ashitaka has T7 with a mere 25,083 battles. This is slightly less than Duca degli Abruzzi's 29,702 games

Vanguard is T8's least played at 12,172 games. Very close to Le Terrible at 12,964 matches. A determined clan could change this...

Jean Bart has T9 at 49,438 battles.

Stalingrad has T10 with only 19,048 battles played.

Important: I'm ignoring ARP ships, and Black variants here. Data as of 12/13/18 from https://na.wows-numbers.com/.

Apparently, it's Dreadnought.:cap_book:

I like Makarov. She's does well in Epicenter matches, and was great for the old OPS when there were CV's, She still does great in those OPS, you, like everyone else, just lose the plane shot down XP.

Play her at an angle about 14km+ from things that can make you dead, and she delivers.
