How is furutaka out here getting accuracy buffs when it has the best armor at T5 and Omaha is still in game as is?

Furutaka is straight up broken right now.

In my 10 post-buff games, I've averaged 73k damage and nearly 2 kills/game.

Furutaka is balanced against all the other tier 5 CAs.

Which consists of Furutaka, Furutaka, and Furutaka.

Omaha, Kirov, Emile Bertin, Emerald, and Konigsberg are CLs. Light cruisers.

Furutaka has been a good ship for over two years (almost three) since it got a much needed buff (the original was really pitiful).

As it is the only CA at T5 it is hard to compare with other cruisers in the tier.

Getting a buff done for other IJN heavy guns is ok. It still has to contend with the same BBs and DDs as before which makes it tough (not to mention exposure to T7)

They are also known as targets for the Furutaka.

Except it also has the best armor, it shouldn't therefore be the best damage dealer, and being it is the only IJN option at T5 it is directly comparable to other T5 cruisers.

I don't seem to have this problem against the Furrytaco.

Of course, I loathed that ship to the core -- battleship maneuverability, armor was worthless regardless of what it says on paper -- and it was one of the few ships I skipped a major chunk of grind on with FXP.

Almost abandoned the entire IJN CA line due to the misery of that ship.

Meanwhile, I have a lot of fun and success playing Konigsberg, Emile, and Omaha

Kirov was miserable, was happy to sell that POS off.

Furutaka is the gold standard other tier V cruisers should be buffed around. If they are going to fight tier VII 90% of the time then they need to get bumped up.

Didn't realize how bad that ship has it until going back to grind for Dallas.

I said the same thing having to go back to Omaha to get Dallas and not use FXP, but I was wrong.

Omaha is a blast when you run, gun, turn, dodge. No you aren't armored but guns everywhere.

Took a handful of battles burning things down and hunting DDs to get Dallas.

The Furrytaco has been a good ship for a while. Better accuracy only rewards players who can aim. The Aoba feels like a side grade though.

I thought the Kirov and Emile were both good ships too. Not sure they really need buffs.

Konigsberg is just OK - it’s important to learn how to kite in her, which is important for the rest of the German cruiser line, particularly Nuremberg and Roon.

Omaha and Emerald need help. Perhaps a 30% smaller citadel??

Well with the right captain the Omaha is NASTY in game. Not sure she needs buffs.

Kirov is a heavy cruiser by treaty definition and by design intention, iirc.

It's a Light Cruiser Plus. 18cm guns don't overmatch other CLs like Furutaka's 20.3s do.

Frankly the fact that it's a 1936-built cruiser slotted with a bunch of 1920s cruisers speaks volumes about the quality of Russian ship design.

Omaha, and one that hasn't been mentioned, the unfairly maligned Krasny Krym, have that ability to fire almost continuously even while turning madly, due some of the many main guns being casemate-mounted.   I have a lot more fun in the KK than I ever had in the Furrytaco.

yeah the strategy with Omaha is RUN AND GUN (one of the best "light gunships" in game)

a.k.a stay the hell away from everything as everything can pen you

furrytaco is gud ship

the stock hull was horrifyingly crap, couldn't wait to get C hull and the new 203's

the 200s are essentially BB guns in terms of reload and i hated them (even though i've played BBs, but the 200's are on a CRUISER)

furrytaco is fun since she's essentially a weaponized go-kart with BIG GUNZ and feelsgoodman torps

Omaha is still a strong ship when it is top-tier, but that is very rare and it doesn't scale up to to tier VII at all. At least it isn't Emerald: the best tier IV cruiser at tier V. Honestly tier V-VI cruiser balance really needs to get looked at as a whole. They haven't received anywhere near the kind of balance attention that the high tier stuff has even though the game is significantly more dynamic and interesting in the mid-tiers.

Unless I'm mistaken (don't have the numbers readily available) even 152mm guns overmatch Omaha, at the least, if not the others as well.

Omaha used to be fun in the IJN vs USN days.  Now it seems most CL are just fodder for BB and DD until tier 6.  Though the KM, French and Ruskies seem to fare a little better up to T 5.

so you think Konigsberg's 150s, Kirov's 180s, Emerald/Omaha's 152s, can overmatch an omaha bow-in or even angled?

not attacking you but i would like to see a training room example of this
