Russian Tier 1 BB

Came across this on Overlords's Blog this morning on a possible Russian Tier 1 BB. Not much info on it but oh well  :Smile_teethhappy:

I don't think we can complain about that too much.  Variety gets scarce without the paper designs.  Think how crappy WoT would be without paper tanks.

One has to keep coming up with ideas or else they would never be able to advance. I love paper stuff cause they let see how they sort of would of functioned. Sort of like animating a drawing so it isn't just a piece of paper anymore :D.

Actually, had you read the developers' thread, you'd find out that Tanz's suggestion makes more sense as a tier-1 than as a tier-2.  Check what are the already confirmed tier-1 for the USN and the IJN and you'll find out that this Russian ship fits right in.

Also, if KGB says "It is expected that one of these ships will be Tier I Russia/USSR", I'd bet my money on him.  :Smile_sceptic:

There will be no Tier 1 BB in this game, this must be a missunderstanding in Overlords Blog.

 

Tier 1 will be a ship similar to USS Enrie or IJN Katori

The first Katori was a battleship.  You may be confused with the later cruiser Katori.

Yes, as I suspected, wrong Katori (1930s ship).  I made the same mistake originally.

If this is true what is the tier I US ship? I thought it had been established as a 2,000 ton gunboat the USS Erie?

I stand corrected (and apologize to Masterrix).  After digging previous KGB answers, he actually posted the pictures of the tier-1 ships.  The information I had was outdated.

No, my mistake, apparently, so apologies to you too!  It doesn't make sense whatsoever though to have a 1940 ship as a tier-1, but I'm sure that there is a good explanation for that.

the thing is, i find that WoT has become an arcade game full of impossible paper tanks, while they leave the few real ones left to put in the game out. Its become a race to get the newest op paper tank, run around in it, then leave it when the nerf bat comes down. I kinda stopped playing, the game just isnt what it used too be... well im waiting for this one.

WoWs would be very empty without paper ships though. I for one am glad that there are paper designs which add to the variety of the game. And how many wouldn't want to see Montana vs H42 vs Super Lion vs Sovetsky Soyuz?

that's a nice ship to start off with, i wasn't thinking of an old BB as the tier1 (not sure what i was thinking)
4x12in plus 4x10in guns is some good fire power for a tier 1, armour isn't to bad either....18kts abit on the slow side i guess

No worries mate, but I agree, that doesn't make any sense, I think it would be better if the ships followed a real time sequence logic, but anyway this game will be awesome!
