Seems like keeping Rasputin alive is the hardest part of the OP. Just because Rasputin is the objective to complete the scenario, doesn't mean he should be your immediate target. Deal with the escorts and the Castle, then once you fulfill those objectives move onto killing Rasputin. Without the heal and at close range he should be trivial. I keep bumping into teams that immediately jump him while there is plenty of time to get a 5 star win.

TLDR; Just wave at this guy, sink his pals, then proceed with poisoning, shooting, stabbing, drowning etc etc.

Up until now, people have been killing him fast because a couple of four-star wins finished a task in the Royal Navy event. A lot of people are in this event just to get their seven stars and get the hell out. The operation task I most often see failed (turning a five star win into four) is finding the black lair castle.

Yeap -- I couldn't get the silly RN task done in a single run no matter what, so I needed two.  I could do two a lot quicker if Rasputin just died, and I was not counting on a random assortment of the playerbase to get things right enough to get the Castle and then Rasputin. 

So, to try out the subs (and ugh... never doing that again), and get the stars, it was just better to kill the bugger and move on. 

 

E:  thread title was a bit confusing, I didn't realize it meant "the hard mode" of the scenario.

It is basically the same thing as before with the only difference being how many launchers you have to find and how many enemy ships are killed, both before Rassy bites the big one. . .but yeah, lots of peeps killing him early on without reading the clearly written secondary objectives in the upper left corner of the screen.

In the normal mode, it seems like they changed it so that when Ras dies, the castle is discovered automatically.  Early on, I failed to get a 5th star a few times because Ras died before we got the castle, but after that, it didn't seem to matter.

Not sure if the hard version has this same change or not, but yea - people seem to not be noticing that this is a different mission with higher goal marks.  They got so used to just blasting through they don't notice (or they never noticed before and just YOLO'd it).

 

BTW, if you target the second ship of the first 3 (the middle one), you almost always get the first 2 kills to yourself.  target the middle, fire at it till its dead, then switch to the last in the row.  Everyone seems to go for the lead boat ;)

There was supposed to be a second week of the normal Terror of the Deep and then the last week was supposed to be Hard Mode Terror of the Deep. Another unannounced change.

FYI the 4 star has a day of premium time on it.  Just in case you like to save those for the right time.

It's still more or less the same like before. Only differences are that there are more catapults to spot (someone need to sail to D2) and you need to kill more ships. After figure out where the last catapults are I got 5 stars in the second try. Not harder, you just need more time for the 5 stars.
