The mode is fun and easy, but this should not happen. Half the team died.

I think it being easy is a good thing because subs are a brand new mechanic. If it was difficult to where most games were defeats then half of the player base might simply not play it and the scenario could be a flop.

It is easy and it is fun but if you go through the reactions to it there are a lot like mine that say it will make a good scenario mode but that they just won't work in randoms without extreme buffs that turn them into something that is not a submarine.

I disagree. I can see submarines becoming part of random battles. Based on the amount of work that WG has put into them, I don't think they ever intended this to just be a test of concept or one-off event mode. Subs ARE coming sooner or later.

we're not denying subs coming sooner or later. We are simply stating that subs should have their own gamemode, and not show up in random.

I think subs would be what we need to break up camping by BBs on the redline and Cruisers behind islands.  I think it would make randoms way more interesting.

and I'm of the belief that it would make the camping meta worse.

Can it actually get worse, though?  Right now, without a CV in battle, you little way to counter an HE volcano that is perfectly positioned in cover behind an island. But, with a sub or 2 skulking behind enemy lines, that changes the equation a bit.

WG has cherry picked the highest performance end of WW2 and drawing board subs and still they felt the need to buff them to cartoonish levels. They absolutely do not feel like their true counterparts. I know it is an arcade game rather than simulation but these subs have no business being in the game except as scenario units.

I would like to have subs in the regular game but they also need to be limited in a way so the whole team isn’t all subs. I really hope that they become a part of every day playing.

or a special gamemode which would require the addition of more ships, that way they aren't just restricted to specific scenarios:

Destroyer escorts versus Submarines. DEs have the task of defending a convey of merchant ships, while submarines have the job of attacking said convey,

Tweak them, bring the actual submarine lines to the regular game.

When I tried them on PTS they just seemed silly.

What I'm waiting to see is the ASW mechanic. I'd take a certain sadistic pride in becoming adept at ASW hunter-killer play.
