Just occurred to me that that November 11, 1918 will be the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, celebrated as Veteran's Day in the US, and Armistice Day in some, I think.

100 years.  I wonder if I'll still be around to see September 2, 2045...

This week marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

Although Antietam was the bloodiest day in US history, Meuse-Argonne was the bloodiest battle. More US casualties than any WW2 battle, including D-Day, the Bulge, or Iwo Jima.
