A couple of minor things I would like to see happen.

Ok.  Here is what I would like to see WG/WOWS fix next.

1 - Clean camouflage.  The rust and faded paint really stirs my grits.  Have you EVER been onboard an active Navy vessel?  You are doing a great disservice to any former Marine or sailor who has ever served aboard a Navy ship.  I have painted more bulkheads and swabbed more decks than I would care to remember.  NO active duty ship would EVER be allowed to get in the condition some of these pixelbotes are in.

It is one of the main job responsibilities of the Bosun's mates.  Not only that, every manjack one of us pitched in and kept our ship in tiptop shape.  As a former Marine, she was only my ship for 6 months (USS Guam, pride of the Gator Fleet), but we took great pride in keeping her in fighting trim.  That includes cleaning and painting.  Please fix this "affront to human decency" that you call camo.

If you need an example (trust me, you do), do a google search and see what a ship is SUPPOSED to look like.

2 - Combat audio.  I would like for a representative of WG/WOWS to gain access to an active duty Naval vessel and listen to the audio that is broadcast over the 1-MC.  THOSE are the kinds of voices I would like to hear when sailing my pixelbote.

Yeah, yeah...too busy ruining co-op to take the time.  I know.

Best regards,

CS

ps - tongue firmly planted in cheek here, but I would like to see these added/fixed.

I have always thought that a benefit of having premium time is to see "clean" ships in your port as an option like the premium port that is available. It does seem a minor thing but there are many people who like a newly painted ship. This is a reason they actually make a mod to remove the rust. Wargaming could take a few hints about what their players want by looking to see what mods are available. Players take the time and effort to code the things that they like and then others use the mods. This is usually done out of love of the game, rarely for malice and Wargaming should follow the lead of these players by adding their ideas to the game..

Why Comic Sans?

As for your points, I could personally take them or leave them, but I don't mind having options, so yeah why not.

Comic Sans, blame that one on Google Chrome.  I just downloaded it this morning.

Well according to my father who was on two ships in the pacific during 1940-1945 which these ships are from. These ships look to clean. On the front line no one had time worrying about paint. you keep your station cleaned and the ship weapons ready.. Only when they were in port the Captains tried to spruce the ship up. Different times different circumstances.

Personally...I think these ships look great!  EVERY ship I was stationed on had rust...EVERY ONE.  Went through numerous refresher trainings/TACTs/TSTAs at Navy bases in Little Creek, Mayport, and GITMO.  Every Navy ship that was there had rust on it...EVERY ONE.  In 30 years of service I worked my way up to Boatswain's Mate Chief & then Warrant Boatswain (CWO4).  As they say, "Rust never sleeps."  Steel + salt water = rust.  You NEVER stop chasing it...  I would imagine that ships were even rustier back in the day when you didn't have the types of paint and cathodic protection you have today.  The ships look great, leave them alone...

Military life for the combat solider/sailor has often been described as "hours & hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror". Cleaning is used to occupy the hours & hours of boredom. The health & safety benefits are obvious. When on combat patrol what you can clean & paint is limited as you pointed out.

Where I was raised "spruce up" was used in the context of making sure the small cleaning task were done. I don't hear "spruce up" very often any more, I live in a different part of the country now. From what Navy vets, some from WW2, told me In port would be like "spring cleaning", everything is spit shined. This is one reason ships in port during WW2 were so vulnerable, all the ventilation is open. In WW2 most would be closed before leaving port.

Is that the case? Just look at the state HMS Hermes was in when she returned from the Falklands.

Yes.  Combat does have a way of taking the dew off the lily.  I bet the order for 12500 gallons of gray paint was submitted while she was still steaming for port, too.

We have battle damage to the pixelbotes during the fight.  They get repaired when in port.  Part of the repair of a real ship is protecting the steel with a fresh coat of paint.  I just want that for my botes too.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a decent paint job on my ships.  The skins are already there.  Just fix them.

It has a catchy tune. The Canadian one is pretty funny as well.

I'm perfectly fine with how the ships look now. Like others have pointed out a fresh paint job can't be expected on every ship going into combat. Yeah you might sail from port looking spick and span...but whose to say you show up to battle like that? Seems like a minor nit pick...which is exactly what you labelled it.

Besides....5 minutes into the battle unless you're a back line hugger your ship will be black and sooty...

I wouldn't compare modern warships and their pristine paintwork and modern paint systems, to ships operating in a near global war and naval conflict where in the grand scheme of things when out on patrol etc, manpower would be better spent on watch, manning stations and fixing fundamental things, rather than beautifying ones hawse pipes and mooring bollards etc, or painting the latest boo-boo on a ship.

Yeah I don't think we are talking about the realism factor. This is a game, not warfare. This is a player preference, some like the realism of rust, some do not... That is the heart of it, all about player preferences and personalizing the game to get the most enjoyment out of it. Asking to allow pristine paint jobs on pixel boats to play in a game hardly seems game changing or game breaking. If we can have cats, monsters, and Japanese schoolgirls captaining ships, adding boats with fresh paint hardly seems too much to ask...

If you notice in that picture only the areas over the side look bad because your not going to hang a deckhand over the side to clean and paint while underway. When in port or anchored the first thing that happened was the bosun's chairs were broke out and deckhands were lowered over the side to scrub and paint. Carriers are referred to as USS Neverdock by sailors on them because they need to stay on station while escorts can come and go. I bet English sailors have similar names also.
