Ok, I stopped playing warships awhile ago, around the time of the Graff Spee event and the Dunkerque (year ago? year and a half I think). Anyways there seems to be an assload of new things I don't quite understand, so if somebody could give me a general rundown on some of the things I have found, or some things I might have missed that has since come out that would be appreciated. Just for clarification I'm not really talking about ships, more about gameplay mechanics or changes. I have heard about sigma or whatever and I know it affects shot dispersion (seems like a retarded stat to me, its like dispersion insides of dispersion), not too sure on the particulars though. When I hopped in the garage I noticed a thing in DD torps, can DDS no longer torp cruisers? it said BB and CV only, so are DDs pretty much helpless against cruisers now? any other "recent" gameplay changes that have happened recently that you can think of? I haven't even played a match yet so I'll edit if I find something else I don't know about.

Dispersion is how tight your shells are. If you shoot, your shells will land in sort of in an ellipse pattern. Dispersion decides how large that circle is, and sigma decides where in that circle the majority of shells will land.  Basically the higher the sigma the more likley your shells will go precisely where you are aiming. Dispersion would decide how wide a spread you get. Frankly it's pretty complicated and even I dont fully understand it 110%

For the destroyers, they have added several dds into the game that have deep water torps. The whole pan Asian line has deep water torps. They sail deeper in the water, so they are much harder to spot and have a higher chance of flooding. The trade off is they cannot torp other destroyers. (Cruisers, bbs, and carriers are all fair game). You must have been looking at asashio though. She has even deeper torps and can only torpedo battleships and carriers

You are no longer completely concealed when firing in smoke. You gun bloom is much shorter than normal when you are in or behind smoke. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Detection#Smoke

Open water stealth firing is no longer available. Your detection blooms to the max range of the guns for 20 seconds after firing. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Detection#Smoke

Clans can use oil (10 for every container you get) to make buildings that give bonuses to clan members. You can only collect oil if you are in a clan. Your clan  can get up to +5% XP, +10% CmdrXP, +25% FXP, -15% service cost, -15% silver tech tree ship purchase cost, +5% coal, +5% steel, and +5 members (max 50) from the buildings your clan makes. There are serious competitive clans with requirements to join and relaxed clans with little to no requirements. See the clan sub-forum to find a clan to join or start your own clan.  http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Clans

New resources to get besides silver and FXP.

Elite CmdrXP is made by 19pt Cmdrs and can be used for the training and retraining of any captain(s) regardless of nation. You can also earn it as a reward. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Commander#Max_Rank_Commanders_and_Elite_Experience

Oil is only collected if you are in a clan and is 10 oil for every container you acquire.

Steel is earned in Clan Battles and Ranked. You can get 1,500 steel as a rare super container drop.

Coal is earned in game from rewards and daily containers and is used in the Arsenal. You can get 15,000 coal from a slightly less rare super container drop. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Container

Your coal and steel are tracked in the Arsenal. The Arsenal is an in game shop for certain premium ships, special upgrades, combat & economic signals, camos, containers from old collections, special Commanders and the like. Some categories have a one-use coupon for that category. See the Arsenal wiki for details on coupons as they refill. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Arsenal

Events have temporary currencies for the event. At the end or at some point in the event, they are converted to credits. The RN event that just started has Sovereigns and Guineas. See the thread in my signature for the thread that has an RN event breakdown.

New lines will have a 2-3 patch event for the line release. WG is planning three to four line releases a year.

Patches are on a four week release cycle and are way more predictable with the future release date. So far, WG has yet to miss a four week release date. The Play Test Server now has two parts to test the new update. Still gives rewards for participating.

There are more special Draconic flags that give bonuses for XP with the total up to 8 now. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Flags

Perma-camo now gives a -10% (T2-T8), -20% T9 or -50% T10 service cost discount to the service fee for entering a battle along with combat bonuses and other buffs. See wiki for the flat service fee cost per tier. So if your ship is undamaged or sunk, the fee is the same. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Economy#Operating_Cost

Daily missions have been replaced by Daily Chains 1 & 2 and a login bonus. The daily chains give rewards based on the login bonus. See current month calendar for the bonus for that day or look in the missions tab on the left of the port screen and hover over the Stages of the Daily Chains to see that days reward. Completing 3, 9 & 20 Daily Chains for a month give further flags as a reward.

The monthly briefing above is updated weekly with what events are happening, so you need to check it often.

I can't think of anything else, but I'm sure I missed something.
