“Saving Transylvania” and “A Sunray in the Darkness” operations are becoming available. The balance is pretty much the same as in the previous versions.

Hard mode has been added to “A Sunray in the Darkness” operation. The 'Taint' effect (fog) has been significantly improved.

New operation dedicated to Halloween 2018 has been added to the game. A group of players will enter the world of Darkness to destroy the main enemy – Rasputin. Players will participate in the battle using submarines.

We added 5 submarines: Seelöwe, Killer Whale, Barracuda, Gerfalcon, Kroha.

It's possible to meet on these submarines some old friends in a new design: commanders Dr Frankenship, Mina Ura, Sairus Gerrero, Lazar Kent and Klaus Teslau.

For upcoming Halloween we have added 4 special camouflages for the following ships: North Carolina (Leviathan), Mogami (Octopus), Kiev (Razorworm), Z-23 (Steel Rat). The camouflages repeat the outlines of the enemies from the new operation. Bonuses are standard for the level.

There is a chance to receive two new achievements during the Halloween event:

  • For the passage of operation Halloween-2018 - "Horror of the Depths";
  • For completing all three operations of Halloween (2016, 2017 and 2018) for 5 stars - "Warrior of The Light"

There are two new containers during the Halloween event - standard and premium.

I just want to say, Kiev's Razorworm camouflage reminds me of the mutated Hive (Destiny) and Zerg (Starcraft) structures.

And there's a certain humor to be found that it's a Japanese ship that is mutated with an Octopus.

Regardless, this will definitely force me to finish grinding out to NC and Z-23.

I don't know why WG just doesn't make an entirely new game set in a steam-punk setting. This Halloween stuff is just too good in my opinion to only come around once a year.

On another note, while I'm very wary about submarines and their overall implementation (my honest opinion is that they should be a PvE thing only, I don't want to see these things in PvP), I have to say that my favorite of the 5 is Seelöwe. I really like the way it looks. Other than that, honestly WG almost sold me on the video showing their (subs) gameplay. The concept looks interesting (though a large part of that is due to the Halloween aesthetic, it's just so cool), but I still maintain that these things should only ever be allowed to fight bots (player controlled) and/or be AI opponents (operations enemies).

I can see where this [edited] is going.

I agree. It would give the devs assigned to it licence to really cut loose and produce some way-out stuff, using the ships in the regular game as inspiration but taking them to places no historical ship would dare go.

I would almost argue for it as a permanent mode to the real game, with an update every year, except that there is the issue of the 19-point loan captains and all the elite captain XP they generate. It would make creating your own 19 pointers pointless. Maybe they could cap them out at ten in the off-season?

The next question becomes, how can I earn/win these camos. I really want that NC Leviathan. Last year's Benson camo is still desired too. Fine I'll shorten it up and just say I want all that I don't have. But I desire that astounding Leviathan camo the most.

Assuming they're like last year, available via Halloween Crates. But now that we have the Arsenal, I could see them also potentially being sold through it during the event, if they add in event-only tokens for those willing to grind. The other possibility is direct purchase, like the Space Event Camouflage. Maybe all 3, or a combination of the two (ie: Halloween Crates at effectively a discount, though it's RNG, or straight-purchase for those who don't want to Crate gamble).

Me too! This stuff looks awesome. I thought space battles looked pretty cool too. It could totally be a separate game mode that is always available just for the thrills.

It could rotate between Halloween and Space and whatever else they ever feel like coming up with. I missed Bathtub Battles or whatever that was, so maybe that could be on rotation too. They put so much work into this, it's a shame to leave it in the back of the closet. I would pull it out a lot more often if I could. Especially if it contributed something modest to the regular ships. Maybe it could generate a small (very small) amount of Elite Commander XP.

Something came toind here for me. All the other skins are for existing ships. Do the subs have standard models for what would become tech tree ships, and these are skins we see? Or are they modeled this way and will have no standard model?  I guess we will find out later.

I have to agree.  NC camo is best.  The rust is very attractive.  The other boats are way too dark and cluttered...But they still look good

the NC is a nice straightforward design that isn't afraid of flashing you her pearly whites and a wink when she notices ya.

I would like to see the NC in her skin let loose among the lower tiers with no guns, no secondaries... just chasing and trying to eat the smol botes.

I kinda want that NC camo with just the rust and broken bits, without the Leviathan head.  It reminds me of Fallout's after-the-bombs-fell aesthetic.

It's quite probable. IIRC, the Igor, or whatever the T3 Halloween ship was with the double-fist bow, was actually based on the T3 KM BB, but at the time, it wasn't in the game yet.

Moreso since if Subs do come to the game, these would be skins they can quickly profit off of.

Leviathan, cresting the waves, leading us all to the grave

Leviathan, slaying all foes who dare to oppose

Tearing bodies limb from limb

Eviscerating on a whim
