174 Fog_Cruiser_Tone Members 813 posts Report post #1 Posted March 2, 2015 I do not play WoT or WoWP, and wasn't around for either's launch... so I have a question: when the game begins, how do the pre-order packages and premium items work? Like, what -- generally -- do packages come with? And how do premiums work... if you buy a premium T5, do you just get to jump into T5 right away? (Fighting, I would assume, almost exclusively against other people who bought that same ship because nobody else has ground their way up to that tier)? 5,661 Macabe Alpha Tester, Members, In AlfaTesters, Beta Testers 12,413 posts Report post #3 Posted March 2, 2015 Expect 3 packages. In terms of ships: Destroyer package: probably around $20-$25 tier 3/4 Cruiser package: ~$40-60 tier 5/6 Battleship: ~ $70-80 tier 8 warplanes was missing the tier 8 bit If it's anything like WoWP/WoT packages, it'll look similar to that. Premiums give you 1.5x the credits and exp that a regular ship/tank/plane would normally give per battle. They're exceptionally good at credit, free xp, and crew skill grinding. Also.you can put the crew from a different vehicle into the premium vehicle without penalty to performance.

Or do you have to earn tiers 1-4 first, and only then can you progress higher? the way tech trees work, experience earned on premiums can be converted with IRL money currency to research stuff on other lines. each vehicle is part of a line, and xp earned on each one is used to research the next vehicle. premiums also earn additional money which you use to buy the vehicles themselves along with repairing them and rearming them. Or do you have to earn tiers 1-4 first, and only then can you progress higher? It's a standalone object completely unrelated to your tier progression. You'd still being going tier 1->2->3 and so on for whatever line you choose. You can take the experience you earn in that ship and convert it to free experience which is usable to research anything that is next in the line. Ted is a ninja... 663 Khovax Alpha Tester 1,440 posts 2,164 battles Report post #9 Posted March 2, 2015 if you upgraded you account to a premium account you will receive an enhanced income and experience gain. Also premium vehicles are vehicles that you can buy with real money (unless they are a gift vehicle) and they enjoy an enhanced income and a reduced repair cost. premium vehicles stand alone on the tech tree, don't research in to anything cant be researched in to... you just buy them. No. You can pay for say 6 months of premium time and that will give you 1.5x the credits and xp from all battles but i don't think that's what you were asking or was it? Have you ever played WT? It's like that. They essentially copied WG's model. Edited March 2, 2015 by Macabe

WG's system is one of the best IMO, as it is a time vs money system, meaning you can get almost every ingame advantage you can buy with IRL money by expending time grinding credits or xp in mid level vehicles. "premium" vehicles are actually (usually) underpowered compared to same-tier vehicles, but earn far more money or xp. for example, at tier 8 in tanks, a regular tank may earn 50k+ credits on a good game, but a premium tank can earn 150k+ credits for a similar performance game. Have you ever played WT? It's like that. They essentially copied WG's model. except with more P2W

I dunno, heh. I don't like microtransactions... and I would like to avoid them if possible. But if I'm going to have to pay to transfer the experience off a premium ship (that I get through a preorder package), than I was wondering if there was some kind of sub I could pay to avoid that. If not, I'm not sure why I'd want the premium ship... even if it's cool... if I have to pay extra to make it useful. Please forgive my newness to all this. Or you can buy it straight from the gift shop. Will post link in a moment. https://na.wargaming.net/shop/wot/premium/ if you buy in longer stretches it gets better. 24000 gold ($100 with 1k gold left over) for one year, bringing the cost under $10/month. If you don't want to pool up EXP in a ship that can't level like a premium, then there will be a little box that you can check called 'accelerate crew training'. This will speed up crew training at the cost of not building up any ship exp, only crew and free exp. Premiums also make good crew trainers.

There is credits that you earn from doing battles and there is gold which is bought with real money in WoT. They tend to do sales on their shop packages on holidays and special days. I use my premiums in WoT to grind credits and train crews.
