Decorating Warships hurts my eyes

OK, I get it. People seem to like to dress up their ships with fancy lights, gaudy paint jobs, weird space suits, etc etc.   Historical camo just ain’t cutting it, and now along with anime captains, you get anime sound and other cartoon like goodies. Some of these ships look like Xmas at a Dude Ranch, some look like Tonka toys.

I realize that we cannot have complete historical accuracy, that is the nature of the game.   But this stuff is hurting my eyes.

So my question is:  is there or can there be a Simple filter placed in the graphics section of the settings menu so that we can turn off all skins and see the ships in their natural state?  I mean you get to see them if you like, and you get the perks OK, but all I want is to be able to see the ships in their birthday suits ::::blush:::::

Quite a good deal of effort goes into making the ships look remarkably historical, which I think is very cool.   If you are a naval historian you might agree, and they might hurt your eyes as well.

I was told a while back that there was a way to turn them off, but I’ll be darned if I can find it.   Are they talking about Aslains mod, or in game settings?

For now, I have a headache in the middle of my eye :::hehe::::

Look at the WG modstation. They might have something that might help you.

Oh, look, it's incredibly easy for you to turn off everything you're whining about so your poor, sensitive eyes don't have to see it.

How about that?

Awesome, I will try.   Thanks a lot.  Not for the insult, but for the help!

Oh cool, not that I would do it now, (the snazzy paint jobs have grown on me) but I never knew you could turn off the "special" reward camo.

I agree with OP.  I would much rather have had the choice between that Freedom camo in Go Navy and the actual permanent camo on my Des Moines.  The only reason I bought it was for the bennies, but would gladly trade it for the actual camo.

He wasn't being insulting, that's just good ol' Kiyo....

When he gets insulting, you'll know. :Smile_teethhappy:

I’ve looked all over and never saw that.  I assume it applies to in game as well, and not just ships in port.

 I CAN get some SATISFACTION

(Satisfaction: the name of the extraordinary Capt. H Morgan’s ship)  not that most people know that, and just think I’m trying to sound like a porn star. When it is actually a double entendre. :Smile_teethhappy:

I've just seen this exact thing thousands of times by now and am kind of fed up with people not doing any research before complaining.

It should, yes.

I knew you could "turn off" ARP/HSF/event stuff, (ie. "Halloween" ships) but always thought special camo was not hidable.

It's understandable though. Usually a lot quicker to just ask than look for it. Delegation is more efficient.

It only took him 11 minutes to get the answer. Even if he could have found it himself in half the time, that's 5.5 minutes that he was able to spend doing something potentially more constructive.

And really, hardly anyone asks a question here that hasn't been asked many times before. If people did all their own research, this place would be a ghost town...

Sorry, but at the moment nothing like this is planned except port filter. Standart camos will not be replaced with only historycal for example.
You may look for some suitable already checked mods here on the forum to find the answer.

Welcome to the real world......

Clearly you haven't spent much time in port chat, or you'd have blown a gasket long before now.:Smile_teethhappy:

I can understand what your talking about.  Thing is I've seen some photos of WW I and WW II convoys that crossed the Atlantic that make what you see here look lame and drab, wish I could find one of them to post on here.  With the 'Dazzle' paint schemes that were developed by the US and Britain to confuse the eye and make it harder for U-Boat commanders to hit ships in convoys some of the convoys looked like something from the 1960's Woodstock concerts.  Get 30 - 50, or more, ships painted in Dazzle patterns with just about every color available at the time and it's amazing that the Germans couldn't see the ships leaving New York harbor from Wilhelmshaven!

Yeah, me too.  The problem with turning it off is that then you can't mount it, so you give up the bennies.
