Bored again today. Grog began to be issued to British seamen in the early 1700's. It consisted, usually, of these 2 ingredients. NO CHEATING!  This is probably overly easy.  Bragging rights to those who can name what else was sometimes added however.

Rum and water. It's watered down rum.

DING! Correct.  What else was sometimes added to it? This is where it gets tough. Separate the true seamen from the wimps.

Sometimes?

Lime or Lemon?

^ ... I think. I'm not sure about this. Seems logical to me to combat scurvy.

No. Not that I know of.  Could be maybe.  Something else.  You are on the right track however. This was added to give it flavor.

Grog should be introduced to the game as a new currency.

Give it time.

If we go by myth, then Horatio Nelson was once an ingredient of a barrel of rum :cap_haloween:.

I thought he was put in a pickle barrel.

OK.  Enough of this.  It was CINNAMON.

Cinnamon is typically a component of rum.

Wasn't Gunpowder added as well?  If the alcohol was watered down the gunpowder wouldn't ignite.  If it did, that was the proof that it was good stuff?  (Read it in an old pirate history book, don't have it on hand here at work so not 100% sure)

Sounds good to me.

I thought it was a barrel of brandy, the officers didn't usually drink rum.
