That 1080 is extreme overkill for this game and a 1060 would still be overkill but you are set for the foreseeable future. :Smile_great:

Don’t waste your 1080 GTX on 1080p.  Literally wasting half of its horsepower even at 180fps.  Upgrade to a 1440p 24” or 34” ultrawide.  Makes more of a difference then adding 80 more FPS

I lucked out and got my Ti for less than $700 last fall right before the next bitcoin rush.  Just wait till the 1180s drop in a few weeks, prices will fall.  Personally I’d stay away from Ebay unless u can verify the warranty.  Never know if the card was used in a mining rig or overclocked by a noob

The last Call of Duty game is nearly unplayable even with low settings on the 670 - especially for old eyes, WoWs is only one game.  Monitors will be next.  I buy stuff like video card to use them for a long time (reference the GTX 670 - I bought it new).

I would not touch a used card with a 100 ft pole - too many miners had them and I don't trust eBay sellers to tell the truth.

34" ultra wide changed my life while paired with 1080ti

I am running a GTX970 at 4k  on a 50 in TV and it is starting to struggle a little. I would love to have a  1080ti!

Like my GF using the gaming rig to play Solitaire.  I'm like, "Pfft...  What a waste."

Been awhile since I have been a kid  :)  Notice the lack of LED lighting and no clear side panel... :)  Room gets quite hot in summer so I need to work the cooling a bit.

What are the rest of your systems specs?  I’m running a i7 2600k overclocked and a 560Ti.  Been considering upgrading the video card to get some more FPS...I usually average around 35-40 on max settings.  I’ll be curious to hear your results.

Heck, going from a GTX 650 to a GTX 760 got me from a flaky 50 FPS to a solid 75 FPS. I could get a 1060 and see excellent performance increases but that is just to pricey for this retired old man.

Congrats on the upgrade. Hopefully your CPU/mobo was also fairly recent, or else you'll be bottlenecking that GPU in AAA games. As far as WoWs goes though; it was intended to be capable of running on potato rigs.

As an aside, faster loading into battle comes from installing the game onto an SSD, if you're planning another upgrade (or if you haven't already).

If you don't mind me asking, what's your chip/MoBo and case (looking for room).

I'll see if I can do some window shopping and link you some fan options with good cfm at a decent price.

Make sure you have a decent power supply. 600W. Corsair is the best quality and silent.

60 bucks. Oh yeah.

Main other game is the newest Call of Duty but I can now possibly play more games.

For the others -

Gigabyte GA-Z97X

i7 4790K

16 GB ram

2 SSDs

750 watt PSU (Corsair)

This was the last major piece up upgrade other than the monitors (24 in Samsung TV and 19 inch NEC 90 GX2) for my PC.  I had to rebuild 2 or 3 years ago after a lightening strike of a neighbors tree.  Been building PCs since 1998 or so. ;)

Was going to get a 1070ti but this card was $450 at Newegg with a $50 off promo code and that frankly can't really be beat.

Thanks for the details.  Looking forward to hearing your results.  I too have been building my PCs for eons.  My first was running one of those classic Celeron 400s that we’re good for overclocking, probably for a 2000.
