When you have your spotter plane up, is there any way to toggle back to 'normal' view?  Sometimes when a DD pops up close it would be nice to switch.

Nope.  Gotta wait till the spotter lands.

Well that sucks.  Thanks for the answer.

If you are using the spotter for extra range then no, but if you are using it just to spot DDs n such then switch to a fighter it still spots and no weird overheads.

Yeah when you put up your spotter you have to make sure you're going to want it there 60+ seconss in advance. It's really useful for shooting pesky cruisers hiding behind islands.

The spotting plane is better at this because it flies farther away from your ship and if I'm not mistaken it also goes faster.

The catapult fighter circles at 3.25km and the spotter plane circles at 4.25km.

For a battleship, the catapult fighter lasts 90 sec and the spotter plane lasts 100 sec (Musashi 180 sec and 120 sec respectively).

For a cruiser, the catapult fighter lasts 360 sec and the spotter plane lasts 100 sec.

Thats right, all I am saying is if he is just trying to spot pesky DDs and torps he need not use a Spotter that messes up his aim whilst it is airborne.
