Well, it's more like satire, but still concerning.

Reading the hidden contents made it clear enough.

You can really tell which posters didn't read the whole post.

lol a cleverly disguised crying about Radar thread.

I disagree with the clever part, but the rest is spot on.  :Smile_popcorn:

This consumable should better balance destroyers vs battleships and enable skilled plays to take place. One could even say it's required, because currently a battleship has to make some pretty serious mistakes to actually be sunk by torpedoes.

better balance destroyers vs battleships

enable skilled plays to take place.

SKILL. DISABLE BATTLESHIP BUTTON = SKILL. THIS BUTTON IS SKILL. I CAN'T AIM TORPEDOES. NEED SKILL. BUTTON IS SKILL.

  Reveal hidden contents

If any of this justification looks familiar, this consumable is designed to be a parallel to another one already in the game.

How about...

NO

EDIT: OP doesn't want to gitgud and wants WG to bend over for him

Easily satire.

But what about a consumable that hinders DCP.

Any consumable that takes away another player's control over his own ship by design is just a terrible, terrible idea.

This is a game of ships not voodoo magic.

Idunno, magic instant fire suppressant / flooding control buttons, magic 5 second torpedo reload buttons, seeing through islands, UFO maneuverability planes, it's all pretty close to voodoo already.

Except that you exaggerate with your example here, and now try to sell it as the parallel to Radar. Which it is not btw.

A Destroyer that gets radared has two options to mitigate the damage he is about to take. Option one is to try and get out of radar range. Depending on the situation, this is very much possible provided you took early safety measures. Second option is to make a run for island cover, and break line of fire to the enemy. This is what Destroyers in Clan Battles to a lot. They hug islands inside the caps, get radared like mad but if played properly still take little to no damage, while still having their impact.

A Battleship which would get sabotaged would have no way of migitating the damage. The player at that point can just sit back in his chair and watch the Torpedoes coming in.

You honestly think this is comparable to radar?

On USN destroyers

Range:  9.5km

Duration: 30 seconds

On IJN destroyers

Range: 11.5km

Duration: 25 seconds

Both nations

Cooldown: 145s/125sec (prem)

Charges: 3/4 (prem)

Not found on any other ships

Becomes available in its own slot starting at tier 8 (Benson, Akizuki, Kagero). Retroactively added to premium destroyers Harekaze, Asashio, Kidd, and Black (shares slot with Radar)

When activated any battleship in range loses all rudder and throttle control for the duration. Throttle remains locked at its current form, while rudder centers itself. The ship is forced to travel in a straight line until the consumable effect ends or the battleship travels out of range. Any battleship traveling into the range of the consumable while it is active will also be affected.

The only indications that it is occurring should be a small indicator near the speed/rudder dial indicating speed and rudder are unresponsive.

This consumable should better balance destroyers vs battleships and enable skilled plays to take place. One could even say it's required, because currently a battleship has to make some pretty serious mistakes to actually be sunk by torpedoes.

  Reveal hidden contents

I think this idea is :etc_swear: godawful for regular play. As the basis of a special consumable for the Halloween events, though, it's got something to recommend it. They put some really freaky stuff on those ships, and it's great fun within that context.

Someone wants free easy kills.

How about this; A DD gets lit up by radar. For 30 seconds after the radar stops emitting, said DD remains revealed due to being irradiated by the radar. (it glows)

No, but Black does. So that statement only applies to Black.

But please continue to take satire seriously.

Let's give IJN torp tree radar starting at t8.

Let's give all ships that had radar IRL radar in this game, so the whining can stop.
