I thought the new version of Raptor Rescue played very well , I took out the Dallas and Nurnberg , both ships are suited to this Op. as there seems to be more DD's now . out of 3 games  I had a loss, and 2 win's ,a 3 star and a 4 .I don't know why Raptor was changed but ,I'm  very glad the the playability of this scenario  remains fun, and I feel average players on random teams  can earn stars.

Now some very good players  might find Raptor  easy to play  so  I think It's up to WOWS to have a Normal/Hard option , It must be being planned as the switch  is there just not activated . Good job WOWS Dev team ! Cherry Blossom was well done,and updated Raptor plays well too

FIFY.

I'll have to try Raptor Rescue again and see how it plays.  Need to grind some modules on the Dallas.  Good to hear they didn't turn all the bots into super unicums as they did in Ultimate F.U. or the PTS version of the new Narai.

They added diversity to Raptor rescue. The final destination moves to one of 3 different locations randomly. Gonna go give it a shot on the NA server only did it on the PT so far. Aslains updated modpack is ready so I can play now. I wish I could use the Mod pack for the PT.

It still sucks.  I just tried it and every problem from the test server has been fixed to be better problems.  The raptor still out runs the other ships you have to escort and is real good at catching torpedoes now.  It seems to try to get sunk.  The torpedo planes are even better.  Then now attack and drop torpedoes without even appearing on screen.  Good job of ignoring the test server comments WG, because you made the final product an even better waste of time.  Hope you achieve your loss of business that you are so determined to get.  Don't ever listen because you will ruin your reputation of being a company that tells the customers what they want instead of listening to them.  Raptor is a complete success in that.

Either Raptor Rescue is much harder or the current spate of players trying it are inexperienced because it was an abysmal failure the three time I played it this morning. One time, the first three ships took out half of the team and then every torpedo hit the repair ship, ending the mission. Another time, the team survived the first three ships but the raptor was torpedoed immediately by the second wave of ships. The third time I was in a CV. I survived and escorted the Raptor as far as I could but my team melted away and the scenario was also lost.

So where's the operation where the enemies are all American, Russian, or British ships? Every tier 6 operation focuses heavily on either Japanese or German opposition. Cherry Blossom, also entirely Japanese opposition.

Can we get a Night Battle of Guadalcanal with an entirely American enemy fleet? Or a Jutland where we play against the British? Tier 4/5 Operation, guys, come on, Jutland would be super popular knowing this community can't get enough of how that was "the biggest naval battle" (nevermind Leyte was actually bigger, let them have it)

 

Dunkirk was also entirely German opposition but that one was history-based so it gets a pass.

The problem is with inexperienced teams that they have no clue how to complete the Op. I finally was in a match where we got the Raptor to the endpoint but one of the team slowed and failed to reach it first, losing a star. Another member of the team was screaming at me to stop shooting at a carrier, although it was another star. I got my carrier but the team on the other side completely ignored theirs.

I played Raptor Rescue on the PTS and did well every time. No complaints about difficulty. I haven't tried it on the NA server, yet, so maybe something has changed.

In contrast, I couldn't complete Narai on the PTS. It seems to me teams have to coordinate their actions to a greater degree than in other operations. Maybe all it will take is enough people to play the operation and become familiar with what to expect to improve success rates. Time will tell.

Lol saw couple enemy cruisers that literally looked like submarines conning tower, periscope, and Torps... Lol I was wondering about that particular bug that made that happen being intentional or not. :cap_hmm:

Just ran the mission a few times with the Dallas and my stable of Russian Cruisers with random teams after seeing this thread. We had no real problems with the mission other than one match we did not sink all the enemy CV's. All missions were 5 star finishes outside the one we did not get the last enemy CV and that was a 4 star finish. I do not think it is a too tough mission but rather a team work issue.

America - Ultimate Frontier.

Russia didn't have much of a post-WWI naval history or a full tech tree.

Against the Brits you'd be pretty much restricted to playing Germany.  Players don't like restricted Ops.  Plus a even more restricted tech tree.

There are reasons.

We're not restricted from playing Germans for Killer Whale, and we're not restricted from playing Japanese for Naval Station Newport.

 

Hell, I can help rescue the Raptor from Japanese warships from the deck of the Ryujo, a Japanese warship.

 

I hadn't played Frontier so I wasn't aware of that OpFor. Thank you for the heads up.

 

But nothing's stopping them from creating a fictional scenario with Russian or British enemies and not restricting player ship types. In fact, that's my main complaint about Cherry Blossom: You have the only night battle in the game's history, and lock out the ability to use the one navy that actually trained for night combat.

Many have suggested random operations be played at the normal level and clans/ divisions play at the difficult level. I agree with this.

The new RR OP seems alright for average randoms.  Just a sprinkling of increased difficulty here and there.  Like a BB here replacing what was previous a cruiser or this group has a few ships that are now 1 tier higher but still the same number of ships.  The twist is the alternate routes and it looks like the last group of enemies can change which is fine.(seen the normal 2cls +2bbs, and also saw something different with 4 cruisers, including a Atago chasing us.)  Some dynamic flavour,  but nothing drastically breaking the OP.  In being fair with my critique,  I think it got easier for the one particular route(SW) in my match.   The last wave with several cruisers and BBs,  they spawn a bit behind several islands and grouped on either side.  I think it was a bit of luck with teammate positioning, specifically the leading ships at the time.  As the enemy sailed out,  we engaged only the BB half for ...20-30secs(not too sure)... because the island blocked the cruiser's LOS of our closest ships.  That might even work the other way around.

I've played my Cruiser line Dallas,Nurnberg,Graf Spee, DeGrasse and Perth  getting win's, after a few tries in all .  I didn't play in any divisions (more than willing to play in a division  in Ops ,hit me up!) all random, some good teams some not but, more importantly I got  way more wins than losses and had fun doing it . 

Next up my  BB's  give it a go

 I think divisions should be allowed in Normal or Hard  but adjust XP accordingly to cut down  on XP farming

Finally got 5 stars with an excellent team, and nobody was in a division.
