I may have just played the worst tier ten game in history. Sure losing is part of the deal , but look at the winners xp!!!! It was like the whole game was played in molasses... 1200 xp for the top winner ( and no I am not stat shaming anyone, everyone on our team could have and should have played better) I wonder is this is the lowest cumulative tier ten xp game ever.

WG needs to add in executive officer voice overs, that periodically remind players of how the various mechanics around points work.

I had a lot of games this weekend, where people genuinely thought we had locked up a win, when in fact, the reds had locked up the win.

Yeah, I've seen a few games like that, one not too long ago.  Our team lost all of our DDs in the 1st 3 minutes.  They just yoloed into the caps and got shot up and torped by the enemy DDs.  After that, our cruisers just hid behind islands.  I was doing ok in my BB damage wise, but no kills, when our team got zeroed out around 5 min into the game.  The scores were really low, even for the winning side.

I thought this was going to be a threat where we admit all our worst T10 games. I think I've seen a few steamroll games (like, 3 kills total) where one side dosn't push and just loses on points real quick (Two Brothers seems to have this issue the most in my experience) where I was on both winning and losing sides and I think the highest exp was 1250ish or so.

P.S. Sailed Yamato out, did sub-10k damage before dying around the 3 minute mark from focus fire of no less than 7 enemy ships plus a carrier.

You know its a bad game when you do 20k of damage in a BB and die in the first 5 minutes, and then finish near the top in scoring on your team.

Been there. Done that. "Wait! Why did I score the best!? I was dead instantly!"

If anyone feels I am naming and shaming.... then.. I'll edit it. But laughing at the winning team really isn't shaming anyone. It was a bad game for everyone.

As a general rule, I always block out names.  Just to avoid any issues.   Besides, the message doesn't require names.

That said, i don't mind personally.  "Cause sometimes I suck...and I'll admit it.  Sometimes I just have a bad game....make poor strategic and tactical decisions...lose SA...aim poorly...yada yada.  And sometimes I have a good game (for me) that just doesn't measure up to someone else's standard.  Oh well.  Life goes on.  When you don't measure up in WOWS, there is no WOWS viagra to help out...sometimes you just suck.

Good point about blocking nicknames. That's the right way if you want to discuss such topics.

if there is an easy tutorial to do so I would be happy to learn how to do it. At some point this name and shame stuff has to end from the standpoint does any really care about the names in the game, there was no fault, no blame, just a funny result for all involved.

I took some social media tools for that (maybe not quite neat, sorry), but there are plenty of possible options.
I used to see such results in many battles. As for me I don't find them strange. Almost all reds are alive besides their not very high XP.

If it's a screen shot, right click on the jpg and click edit.  Click on the square function.  Select Fill.  Drag a square over the names of green team.  Then drag a square over the red team.  Save.  Done.

If you want to make it prettier, you can use the eye dropper to sample the green bar, which will make the fill color the same as the bar.  Drag a green box over the green team.  Then sample the red bar and drag a bar over the red team.  But that's just cosmetic.  Black box (default) works fine.

Once you do this a few times, and learn the clicks, it takes about 10 seconds with a black box, and about 20 seconds to get the colored boxes.

I have been in games that ended so fast that the highest XP even on the winning team was under 700 (Enemy team left their base and a stealthy DD who sailed straight at the cap, capped out before a single ship had died on either team).

While I understand the mercy aspect of game ending on zero out or cap out or 1000 score, etc.   I think there should be a clock minimum, to at least allow an actual game to take place.   Say 10 or 12 minutes pass before a cap out or zero out is allowed to end the game.

I feel like they're becoming more common. More and more failing their way to the top. I haven't been one to complain too much about match making, but as I've stated on other threads; steamroll games are bad for the game, bad for both teams...just bad period. A more even distribution of skill could help. Some days I might be able to ignore an outcome like this, other days I just can't. One match like this and I'm just done. Totally kills the will to play sometimes and that isn't a good indicator of healthy match making. I've played long enough to know when there is just no hope, every bote for themselves, farm as much as you can, it's over. Not good.

Steamroll Games are worse.  When you got well more than half the losing team score less than 300 BaseXPs with nobody breaking even 800.  Such matches are over very quickly and even most of the winning team will not have gotten in enough work to make it a worthwhile win.  In such matches, it's not surprising when even the best performing player of the winning team scores only 1500 or so BaseXPs.  He's the lucky one, and a bunch of winning players will have 600 or so if they were lucky.  Hell, you can even lose credits with such wins.

I see it more at Tier IX+. Tier VIII and below I can fight it but not Tier IX+. It doesn't matter whether I am top tier or bottom tier either. 90% of the games I have played at Tier IX+ you are either on:

  • The side that pushes and wins
  • The side that gets pushed and loses

Tier VI-VIII, I can do my best and have a enjoyable game.

Actually, those scores are not the worst I've seen and I've been on the wrong side of them for the majority that I've seen.  One game the other night the ENTIRE red team was over 1k xp.  Needless to say the Green team was not. Should have hit the screen print button though.

Hey just think, if you are on the loosing team and are in the top position it's a credit toward those nifty "emblems" you can get.. LOL   Sure I was In the TOP 3 of my teams scores but never broke a 1000 XP in any of them for 15 games still got the nifty emblem.

That's a fair assessment. At T9+ mistakes are punished way harder and the loss of one or two from the start are exponentially harder to recover from. DDs especially. If you get 3 bad vs 3 good DD players your team is toast and there's literally nothing you can do about it. You will be perma spotted and ripped apart from 18km+. It's a lot harder for people to make money at these tiers so they get extra salty which also doesn't help. I have matches where I'm #1 on the winning team and STILL lose money because the reds die so fast, and I run premium!! It's just stoooopid...even a little bit of skill balancing would go a long way towards better battles.

And for the trolls: I'm not looking for an easy button, I don't need to "git gud," good well balanced games are more fun and better for the game as a whole. It's something everyone should want. It's nice to give the reds a solid stomping every once in a while, but not when it feels like kicking 3 legged puppies.

It's just how Tier IX+ is so nothing can be done about it. It is in the end up to the players. If we are losing, I want to push because we can only get pushed back so much. Issue is simply who will join you? The Yamato facing the opposite direction? The 100hp Destroyer? The Minotaur? Usually no one unless you are in a division.

Like I said, you are either pushed or you are pushing
