New Battleship spawn in Aegis?

Just finished Aegis. Wow! New BB spawn in the North WITH the Carriers you're supposed to sink. Makes it a lot harder to run a couple light ships up to mug the CVs. The fun part, these were NOT Itchyzuchinies. Kongo, ok tough but more than doable; Fuso, same as Kong except ya got both to deal with; AND the Amagi. Crap. We three starred and I was the last man standing. When those three arrived they caught most of the team leaning North and beat the crap out of us. I survived because I moved east covering the transport from the cruiser/destroyer spawn that arrive in the NE. They did arrive, sans the battlecruisers. They shot me to pieces, but I held together long enough for the Transports to clear unharmed. Amagi, Damn.

that only happens when you fail to defeat the convoy escorts before they reach the middle check point

It also happens if you push towards the enemy CV spawn too soon.

Never have this happen before in all the times that I push right where they spawn.

Only time is when the convoy moved too far south with the enemy escorts still not taken out by then.

I normally run North to mug the CVs if I'm in something with legs and or AA and never seen this. BUT, our team was slow dealing with the convoy escorts so I buy that explanation. Has this always been a feature of this OP? I've played a lot of Aegis when grinding for my tier seven ships and had numerous really bad games but never seen this.

Well, with me it seems to have been the opposite, as I don't recall ever experiencing having the convoy move too far to spawn the BBs, but I've seen and caused the BBs to spawn by pushing the CV spawn before the convoy was taken out. I play a lot of DDs in this operation, so I'm usually the one who goes after the CVs, and for safety measures, never again have I pushed straight into their spawn until the convoy was sunk, I simply stopped behind the island until the convoy was dealt with, and then move full speed towards the CVs and take them out.

Yes, it has always been a feature. In fact, when this operation was first presented in the PTS a long time ago, the BBs would always spawn there alongside the CVs, and it made that Operation the hardest of the original four, until WG changed that before putting it into the live server, so that now the BBs would only spawn if mistakes were made, much in the same way that saving or failing to save the Lexington in Newport defines whether the team would have to deal with an Izumo or a Hiryu.

This is an old spawn we exploit with our ops div to trigger the BBs and farm them. Pm me if you want to try or search @Lightninger's youtube vids on Aegis

Took out the Amagi once with the Mutsu..  Had to beat it to death at close range with torpedoes.

Ended up burning down, but it got done.

Had it happen again tonight when I was in the Arizona...   Really nothing I could do.  We lost.

Don't think so.

As you can see, pushed to north, didn't spawn BBs.

This is not something new in this operation, just took a little fine tuning to figure out what exactly caused it.

There is a specific area of the map you need to avoid in order not to spawn the battleships, which you probably didn't figure out. Through testing, my operations division has done so.

You didn't go into the battleship spawn area.

A few replays and one picture for everyone to educate themselves with.

We can start with the easy quick stuff. How to spawn the battleships and where you go to do it (or avoid going so it doesn't happen).

Here is a picture of the area you go into (or avoid going) which will make the battleships spawn. The battleships also spawn if you let the convoy go too far south, but at that point it doesn't really matter if they spawn or not. I will have a strategies and tactics video uploaded later to illustrate spawning them. In the meantime though, here are a few videos where we are purposely spawning the battleships to farm extra damage

Here is the first version of the battleship farming strategy, one destroyer straight east and one west, torpedo the Kongo and Amagi. Further thinking concluded, we could keep both destroyers west initially and still have one east in time for the spawn so a revision was made.

Version #2, both destroyers stay west in smoke and one goes east, torpedo Kongo and Amagi. There was one issue that seemed to come up we found at this point. The western destroyer kept getting shot at and the Amagi was a somewhat difficult ship to nuke with a single destroyer so another revision.

So far this is still the current version we use, both destroyers in smoke in west and both go east, torpedo Kongo and Fuso. The one issue here was Arashi went on the wrong side as he was supposed to go on the east side of the Fuso so he could have a clear escape route and not be caught next to the Amagi still. Anyone who wants a challenge to farm the battleships is welcome to contact me and run with our division.
