WG Changed their mind about putting JB at tier 9?

It's tier 9 in Flamu's video on all this stuff.  Tier 9 doesn't make sense to me, not for a Richelieu class BB.

Very nice, I think they look great.

I would love to see more flotilla markings on the funnels with the camouflage and I think they're well rounded out by having hull pennant numbers too, but only named premiums get that.

There are a few oddities. In the images Jervis and Icarus lack ASDIC domes on the hull, which they were fitted with, while Gallant and Gadjah Mada (their classmates) do have them. Especially ironic given the consumables...

Jean Bart is shown without her premium camo.

For those that don't know, the Prinz E. Friedrich is a Mackensen class battlecruiser, though obviously with a pre-WW2 style fictional refit.

They need something at tier 9 as a paywall for French BB players to bypass the Alsace.

I don't think that the Jean Bart is slated to be a tech tree ship.  I think that they're looking to make it a FXP ship.

Hey where's T2 stat card?  I gotta say, great job on the paint job of these ships.  Like the Jutland the most.

Sigh, the Lightning...I'd be OK with it if they at least gave it a 9.0-9.5km torpedo range.  I mean the Mahan has a 9.2km range at T7, it couldn't hurt.

The Prinz looks like a German Kongo.

I'm buying it!

Jean Bart, in the form they're trying to implement, is simply too strong for T8. For that matter, Jean Bart had more to her than Richelieu.

To put things into context, Jean Bart has T10/T11 level AA, and about the same or more secondaries as Alsace. Historically, she also had a larger bulge, which in-game could lead to better TDS than Richelieu. She was also heavier, and thus is likely to get more HP in-game as well. I believe she was also a bit better armored than Richelieu to some degree, mainly reinforcing the decks and superstructure when they rebuilt her for all those secondaries and AA, and enlarging the bulge to keep the same draft level. Which may translate in-game as well if true.

Really, all WG would need to give her is Republique's secondary range, a better TDS than Richelieu, and the special consumable they are planning for her, and she'd be a potent escort BB, with a natural weakness due to only having 8x 15" at T9, meaning she has to either put more effort into hunting heavy cruisers and BBs, or pull up to them and let her secondaries help melt them.

I want her at tier 9 because of all of that. Plus a potential FXP French BB would be nice too.

As much as I dislike Medea being in the line, I have Medea here, nabbed from bookface.

Worth noting that stat card shows Medea with the same guns as used on the V/W class, the 4"/45 Mk.V, whereas the 4 Medeas only ever used the 4"/40 Mk.IV.

I'd really prefer to have this ship made a T2 premium reward, and something like Acasta or Laforey replace it.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, the premium camouflages shown are from the following;

Icarus uses HMS Inglefield's camouflage from circa 1942.

Jervis uses HMS Kandahar's camouflage, from 1941.

Lightning uses HMS Laforey's camouflage from about 1943.

Jutland has a variation on a scheme worn by HMS Savage in 1943/1944. (WG have used the plan from a book which has some noticeable differences from what Savage actually had).

Spoiler

And Daring uses a scheme that HMS Fame wore 1942/1943.
