Lakes freighter is pushed off course while trying to leave the Duluth Harbor because of high winds.

They Great Lakes freighters rarely use tugs.

Doesn't look like they hit land, I'd call that a win.

The harbor bottom is very soft.

To give some reference to the grounding. The freighter went aground to the right of the Aerial Lift Bridge in the bottom left center.

I may be more than a little biased living here but I think this would make a great port for our game.

That is a nice looking port. What did it look like in the 20's-40's?

Some old pictures of the harbor.

This one must be from before 1905 as the bridge is under construction.

The bridge when it was the Aerial Ferry Bridge

1280px-Aerial_Bridge,_Duluth,_Minnesota,

Basically the area on the right side of the picture would have more harbor facilities and Minnesota point to the left would be less developed and there would be a lot more but smaller grain elevators.
