[APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED - KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE NEXT ROUND]

Heyo Captains!

Thank you everyone who has expressed their interest in the Community Contributor program.

It was great to see so many people making such a wide range of quality content, and while we would have loved to accept everyone it just wasn't possible. At this point we have shifted through all of your applications made our selections for this round.

At this stage if you haven't heard from us its safe to assume you're not quite ready yet.
While you may have not been accepted this time around, this is not the end of the journey for you.
We heavily encourage you to keep growing your channels and working towards the criteria laid out below.

The key reasons that people were declined this time around include:

  1. Channel Size - There is nothing wrong with being on the smaller side or even being new to content creation, everyone of the CCs you follow started at the same place. In saying that you may need a little more time to grow before the additional content provided in the CC program will benefit you. Please consider the hard requirements when applying
  2. Production Issues - Check your microphone, image quality, layouts, webcam focusing, etc. In conjunction to this, please communicate! If you have recorded some amazing feat of daring do, please at the very least, add some subtitles narrating what is on the screen. Post production verbal narration or even during the battle commentary would help lift and drive some of the amazing content you shared with us. If you are a streamer and you do not speak till minute 48 of a 3 hour stream you lose the opportunity to really build rapport with your audience.  Communication, in some form, is a huge help to those applying. Anyone can make a replay video, make it represent you!
  3. Tone – We are PG game, and we understand there will be some “enthusiastic invectives” i.e. swearing. But when you target other players and rip into them, it does not add anything to your stream or content and likewise takes away from the game. Likewise over using swear words will rob your content or any messaging you are trying to convey.
  4. Creativity – Try to find a way to add your “personality” to your content. In viewing all the applications it was sometimes hard to differentiate one applicants replay with another if all they had was a YouTube replay with either no subtitles or voiceovers. (SEE #2 again.) Some may dress up in a captain’s outfit, another may begin with certain phrases, but key is trying to define who are as an applicant.

If you are interested in personalized feedback on what can be improved upon please send me a PM and I will provide you some additional guidance.

Think you're ready to apply again? Review the requirements below and leave us a post with your response.
The 2nd round of CC applications will open until the End of September.

What to include in your application:

  • Tell us about yourself - anything you want, we want to get to know you!
  • Tell us what you want to achieve by joining the program and why you are applying!
  • Include links to all of the channels you use (YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace(just joking), Blog, etc.)!
  • Include your discord tag, as this will be our main communication tool. Don't have one? Get one here!
  • If you feel like doing that, and want to possibly save time for the future, please also include:
    • Your T-shirt size
    • Your date of birth

How do we choose community contributors? The criteria are simple!

  • Quality and originality of your content
  • The potential we see in what you are doing
  • The number of followers and subscribers on your channels
    • If we see that you make great content but are lacking subscribers, we'll still gladly promote it and help you grow!

IMPORTANT: Submissions without any already created content on World of Warships will be dismissed. We believe that the Program is best for those who already made their first steps into World of Warships content creation. While we do want to promote players new to content creation and just beginning their journey down that particular road, we do expect to see your commitment in the form of content produced on your own.

Hard requirements are:

  • The channel exists for at least 3 months;
  • At least one of the following:
    • 1000+ subscribers (typically that will be YouTube subs or Twitch followers, and any equivalent on other platforms);
    • There are at least 12 contributions there (videos, streams, articles, guides, etc.)

Soft guidelines:

  • While not required statistics, the following will put you in a good position for consideration:
    • YouTube: Average 500 views on a videoes.
    • Twitch: Concurrent viewers over 30 across a 30 day period.

Disclaimers:

  • Please ensure that you have carefully read and accepted all the information here.
  • This thread is running in feedback mode, so you will only be able to see your own post.
  • Due to the number of applications, and the time requirement to review all applications thoroughly, we will prioritize contacting those accepted or shortlisted, first.
  • If we decline your application in Round two, you will be able to apply again in Round 3 at the start of October.

  • Cool 14
  • Boring 1
