The pics speak for themselves. One thing that bugs me among many with the game is you can run aground and back up and your ship runs like nothing ever happened. IRL you run aground you risk total loss of the ship not to mention the repair cost. In the case of this prop it's a total loss and my shop has to have a new one cast. About $42,000 USD for this @Notser

Should be covered under warranty.... :Smile_hiding:

Unfortunately for this guy operator error isn't covered. Insurance is picking up most of the bill IRL.

Well, in the Navy if you run aground CO loses his command automatically and probably his career (with VERY few exceptions) with about 5-7 more officers and blueshirts.... even if he is asleep in his bunk.  It is called "Loss of confidence in ability to command".

In addition if JAG finds more with the investigation, they will be brought up on criminal charges.

But then again...this is just a game!

I'm a warranty admin irl, see lots of stuff said that it should be warranty when it clearly shouldn't be.

I heard that running aground used to cause flooding, but it was too easy to sink yourself by accident.

You usually pay the price for running aground anyway as every ship and there mother focus fires on u . Sometimes you get lucky and nobody hits you but not a lot .

Question - are props generally brass?  And why is brass used?

They are made of Nibral which is a marine grade metal. Nickle for hardness, Bronze because it's corrosion resistant and enough aluminum so you can Mig and Tig weld it and not have to Braze it.
