Shimakaze Legendary Upgrade Promotes Camping and Passive Play

The 80% reduction in torpedo tube traverse speed annilate the supporting play style completely.

I have always played my Shima in the frontline, and I do encounter CQC battles quite often, and torpedoes are the only weapon against other gun boat DDs.

With the new upgrade, the further you are, less affected you are. So many players would choose 12 even 20km variant and sail at the back lane and spam long range torps, which is not the game needs.

What do you think Torpedo traverse Speed means? Because I do not think it means what you think it means.

To explain this to you. It’s the same as you can’t keep up your turret rotation with the enemy ship moving. You know how badly that hurts some BBs in CQC (ie Yamato)

Slow torpedo traverse is only an issue up close.

the Legendary upgrade would allow spamming of torpedoes in return

I think it's a no-brainer, as there's really only a handful of situations where you need that fast torpedo launcher traverse.

So this mod hurts those Shima who want to spot for the team and cap the objectives

Playing a shima that way hurts the team anyway.  Its horrible at it, worse than every other Dd for capping objectives.  If thats what you want to do, you would be better served to use literally every other tier 9 or 10 dd.

Aggressive players will always find away to play aggressively.

It's a basically useless upgrade nobody will use. Shimakaze's torpedo tubes traverse fast enough as it is. And nobody is giving up concealment for that.

Thats not what it does, it makes your torps reload faster but traverse 80 percent slower.

You could... turn your ship so that your torpedoes are where you want them to be... it's not like Destroyers are the most maneuverable....

Not really, because panic launching torps almost never hit anyways.

Still nobody is going to take this in place of concealment.

but you'll get like 40s reload times on your 12km and 20km torps

No one will expect your torps to reload that quickly

At the cost of being spotted at 7km? Do you really think that's worth it?

At ...what, 26k credits per salvo?

its not replacing concealment. Its replacing the final slot that has the torp reload module in it.

so with the lengendary module you get what an extra 10% now?

It plays more to its strength, which is torpedo walls.  If you are constantly less than 6 or 7 km from the enemies, you aren't playing the shima right anyway.  All the module does it bring theconcealment back to what it was the last patch anyway.

6.20703km

Not a huge loss for spamming torps

What, do you think people playing T10 are short on credits? That's what the doubloon camo is for.

Gentleman! this does not replace concealment!

This replaces slot 6. So you gain an extra 10% of reload on torpedoes for a 80% nerf to torp traverse.

Shimakaze (Slot 6)
-25% to torpedo tube reload time
+50% to the risk of torpedo tubes becoming incapacitated
-80% to torpedo tube traverse speed

This isn't really true. I play pretty aggressively in the shima.

What you mean to say is, "if you are constantly less than 6 or 7km from the enemies and engaging them" because with RDF and good dd-smarts you can be very close to enemies just fine.
