What mid-tier battleship gets the job done?

I find my sweet spot to be the IJN Kongo at Tier V.

Good guns, protection, and can get up to 30 knots.

Which battleship is best at twisting mid-tier metal?

Guilio Ceasar of course. Superbly enjoyable. On the cusp of being OP, truly a great ship to play.

This, amazing guns a maneuverability but soft sides making it imperative that you avoid getting hit.

Nelson, able to perform stupendously as top tier, or still fight-up well thanks to the HE. Rewards careful play with survivability, but punishes mistakes harshly with the high citadel making it a risk/reward vessel.

So many good choices. T5 has to be the GC, t6 im partial to the Arizona, and at t7 both the lyon and the Nelson are great choices!

I hate the Lyon.  Guns are too inaccurate.  There is something annoying about firing 16 shells and getting one overpen.

My list:

4: Nikolai

5: Cesare

6: Arizona / Warspite

7: Scharnhorst

Nagato is best.

Her guns are simply flawless. She can bow tank if necessary, shimmying her rear guns like a Colorado.

But those guns... those guns are simply glorious.

My preferred mid-tiers would be Gulio Cesare, Kirov, Furutaka, and Nicholas. Cesare has excellent gunpower and is pretty speedy for her type, Kirov is a decent support ship, Furutaka is surprisingly tanky, and Nicholas is a load of fun (if I remember to play most of these, lol).

Hood.  Love the speed, durability and quick rudder shift.  Guns are not ideal, but can be worked with.  I've also been playing Hood and QE a fair amount lately so I've gotten pretty good at hitting with them despite their low muzzle velocity.  I find that it is the fast BBs like Kongo, Giulio Cesare and Hood that uptier with grace.

I think Konig is the best tier for tier. it was my first BB and i didn't knew what i was doing but the ship was so good i got good results. It was nerf a little but i still think is a very good ship. Ok mobility, great armor,  fit manual AA  and you give carriers big problems.. A great package.

These days its a tie between New Mexico and Kongo. Guess i've started to grow out of the bow on Dunkerque phase, heh.

Guilio Ceasar. At tier VI I like the Normandie.

Am trying to like the Bayern but that dispersion .... terrible!

I only visit the Lowly when a  friend needs help. Tier 7 and up is where you will find me.

T5 Konig

T6 Bayern and New Mexico

At T5 Konig kills all cruisers she faces, holds her own vs BBs and brawls well..same for Bayern at 6. New Mexico has fantastic guns that I find to be wonderfully accurate. October Revolution and Cesare are both very formidable. Only T5 I truly struggle with is Kongo.

Bayern for me. The guns behave more often than not for me and is usually very survivable. I usually operate the rear turrets independently of the front turrets because of the glacially slow turret traverse. As a result I am often maneuvering a lot and am harder to torp. I play Warspite similarly but generally do a little better with Bayern.

Giulio Cesare, Warspite, Arizona, and  Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya  are all favorites of mine, b/c each is a unique play style.

I do suggest (as I almost do in every thread where she gets a mention) the following:

If you do not own the GC and she appears in the Premium shop, BUY HER.

I love the whole lot of T5-T6 BBs, but I seem to run back to Arizona and Normandie.  They are such stable gun platforms in a twisting turning fight.

The lack of bowing to the almighty Scharnhorst is disturbing in this thread.
