Operation Hermes - Current State of this Op/Scenario

WG, please note:

With this latest Hermes Op, I have noticed that the bot ships Leo and Gabriel are and have been programmed to ram and "escort/push" Roan while it has the heal ring active. This has caused (2) outright losses for matches I have played as it pushes Roan out into the wide open to eat torps from the DD wave. I have also noticed that Leo and Gabriel literally glued to each other side by side for the duration of the Op, as well as ramming and ramming the players more as well. This was not occurring in the previous rounds of this Op.

In fact, just lost a battle as I watched Gabriel (in a BB for this battle) simply push Roan out the entire way and eat torps, resulting in a failed Op.

I'm still seeing cruisers being focus fired like no other and simply watching my team melt due to the bot fires and accuracy. When you're the ship in the middle of the pack and you're being focus fired on, it comes across as dirty programming. I've noticed other minor tweaks as well. Like the Spee, Eugen and Hipper all spawn in as a group of 3 when they didn't before (on the final wave if the DD's spawn on the right side). Seeing the Yorck now stop right as it comes around the island (if it spawns on the left side) and the BB wave spawns on that side as well shortly thereafter. Speaking of the left side spawn BB's they are quite nimble and move around like my same Bis, Tirp and Scharn in my port, don't. Not a big deal, but trained eyes can pick up on these adjustments.

Overall I'm sitting at a 50% win rate for this Op since it dropped Wednesday. Honestly, I'm surprised by the number of failures this time around. Granted, (some) losses have been due to really poor team play, by not killing the DD's in the final wave, nor being in front of Roan at the end and watching it eat torps and die. But at least 2 have been a direct result of the bot ships being programmed to run the same course as Roan, ram, and push him into the path of torps.

I'm not expecting much, but if this can be looked into and addressed, I'm quite certain the player base would appreciate it. I doubt I'm the only one who's experienced this. Thank you.

EDIT: Now with replay for proof of what I stated above. Just lost (this battle) the 3rd battle tonight as the result of Roan being pushed while having the heal ring active and taking at least 4 torps because of both bot ships pushing Roan forward. If it had not taken that damage, then the torps from the Spee at the end wouldn't have killed him OUTSIDE of the map boundary. I tried to push them both out of the way to no success and ended up being the torp and shell sponge until I died from flooding and fire damage. Having to play like this reduces my effectiveness towards my teams overall success. You can even see other players attempting to remove the bots ships from pushing Roan into incoming shells and torps. WG, if our shells and torps cannot hit bots out of the map boundary, then they shouldn't be able to either.

Like any Op, the best way to play is divved. @ARandomClaymore, I am part of a group that does Operations together. PM me for more information.

We have also noticed that behavior. The way to stop it is to have a cruiser get in front of the Ruan to block it. Make sure it gets in front of the Ruan by coming from the same side you expect the Red ships from, so that it pushes the Ruan AWAY from the red ships and prevents it from moving into the torps.

I played the one with only 2 forts left at the end and only got a t most 3 stars - over about 7 games - no 5 stars.

Hermes I got 5 stars in my NO of all things on the first try.  Being weak ship I just stuck with the herd and we steam rolled 'em.

Hearing things like the OP’s kvetch is why I never queued for Hermès when it first came out. Sound like there’s still no point to doing so now...

Them ships do like to ram lol.

After the heal you need to keep ships ahead of the Roan or the DDs will kill him.

Replay posted for proof.

I even informed the team and you can see it for yourself in game chat. Yes, I even state to play in front of the Roan. Sometimes it really sucks when teammates simply don't listen. Although, props to the Belfast player who sacrificed himself prior to me dying to give the team a chance for a win. We came up short due to a dirty bag of programming tricks. That's 2 losses this evening with the Roan being torped well outside of the map boundary after eating torps from the DD's just after the heal ring portion of the battle.

Have had good success in the operation with my secondary specced Richelieu. Cpl of losses out of 7 games were due to cruisers being targeted even when I was the closest ship to those 4 BBs. They just ignored me and shot at those cruisers which resulted in losing the DPM for the final DD wave.

If someone plans on a division invite me if there is a spot for the Richelieu.

They always go after low health ships first.

BB 50k hp 7km away  CA 30k hp 12km away  look out CA they are coming for you.

I have never seen the Roan rammed  - but then on the teams I have had - we stay around the Roan and they never have a change to get near.  I have only lost one game and 4 starred the rest.  CV has been the difficult one to kill for the teams I have been on.

Is it better to have a BB herding the bots (since that position is the most exposed) or a cruiser?

I died once because one of the Bot BBs rammed me into a torp wall ( I was in a cruiser) - they are not very good at maneuvering to say the least.

1 BB has to yolo to get the CV. If the exit is in the west, the BB has to yolo the 5 line. If it is in the north, the BB should yolo the D-E line.

Only 1 BB should go. Should be AA-spec'd to knock down those toxic, P2W AP bombs that the Graf Zepplin has. A single BB yoloing will lead the cruisers to divert to it, keeping them off the main body, and will also divert the Graf Z's airplanes. Gotta manage your damage well because of the #BotCheat HE fire chance, but after you burn down the CV (HE is better, often the AP simply bounces) you can AP the cruisers which will help the main body. Normally the BB will survive with half its health, but if the air attack from the south is torp planes things could get complicated.

Not if the CA is actually outside of the shooting range of the bots. It also depends on what ordinance the bot is about to fire. If the bot ship was a DD that just finished cool down on its torpedoes, the 50k HP BB at 7 km in your example better be prepared for some torpedo beats.

2 times I have been that BB in the Lyon and 2 times I had DDs all over me.  2-3 DDs and at least one CA between me and the CV - too many torps to try and dodge not to mention the fires.  CV was also good at staying just out of spotting range.

if you push up into the space where the red bots are, you will die. and make the CV disappear.

You actually have to stay on the far side of the island on D line. If you cross the D line into that space, the CV disappears and you are melted. On the 5 line, get into the channel between the big islands and the islands on the 5-6 line. The CV  will stay visible and in range.

I have to get past D or else it is beyond firing range.  Have to get to the 4 line at least to get it visible the entire time which means I am in the middle of the red boats...

have a replay file so I can see it?
