So far co-op battles seem to be dominated by torpedo launching allies. They race ahead to some choke point and just wreck the bots as they charge in. Is this the nature of these battle types as you get to higher tiers?

Right now there is a combat mission to sink 3 IJN and 3 KM ships.  That’s probably contributing.

Tiers 2 to 4, yes.

After tier 5 it' a little more strategic.

Unfortunately the bots allways charge cap points and base.

Too easy to intersect and get fast kills in.

Bots are predictable, human players are not.  Personally, I use PvE to work on my gunnery and ship driving, especially for a new ship.  You also don't have to worry about strategy because the bots charge your positions and react in predictable ways.  It is not possible to scare a bot off in the lower tiers like you can a human player.

So, I think PvE is not very representative of PvP play.  Using successful PvE tactics will get you deleted more and more quickly as the Tiers increase.  For example, charge across the battle field into the enemy at Tier 10 and you will be back in port in about 30 seconds.
