90% of the time i see GG on a game is when its coming from the winning team. And when its a steamroll there's nothing GG about what happend.

So what do you do?

It is just good sportsmanship to do so.

If the game is a complete ROFLstomp (i.e. we take out 3 of their ships and our entire team dies) which i've been getting frequently the past couple of days, I'm usually too salty to stop and say gg.

Even when I'm on the winning side of those games, doesn't feel like 'gg' if one team landslides the other.

If it is close I will "gg" to both teams. If we crush the other team, I will only "gg" to my team. If we get blown out, I'll "gg red team" if I'm feeling salty. When I'm not paying attention, I'll only "gg" to my division, who are on voice comms anyway.

wipe the tears from my eyes and than question myself as to whether or not I made a good life decision in playing WoWs today.

GG on a loss when losing to opponents who clearly played better. Also "GG, not sarcasm" when winning to high caliber opponents.

Kindly tell them to go **** ********** and stop being so insulting when it clearly was NOT a good game.

I don’t tell someone who has been in a car crash to look forward to their time off work. Compliments are used as insults all the time.

GG has been used as an insult since at Counterstrike or earlier. At least there you could walk across the room and smack the person who said it.

Depends on the game, if it was a good game than yes, if it wasnt than no. I wont say GG on a s**t battle, it feels hypocrisy to me.

I never "gg"- it doesn't mean anything. I actually use words to communicate my thoughts.

Same, its about 90% the winning team, then about half the time a few on the losing team will reply.

I agree. While no one is forced to say "good game" at the end of the game and I don't think any less of someone who doesn't, it is just something ingrained in me from my days of playing football and baseball.

Unfortunately, as indicated by the person who gave you a "bad" downvote on your comment, there seems to be a number of individuals who have no idea what sportsmanship means or is.

I GG as soon as I see the enemy has a payfast.

I GG to the other team and my team when we are pretty even...then when we lose another few more ships and they are holding steady then I call on our team " ARE WE SHOOTING BLANKS ??"

As for the survey - only GG is if it was a competitive game not a wipe out.  Then its LG = Lame Game

I only GG if its a good close game.

There's absolutely nothing GG about a completely one sided steamroll, win or lose.

The enemy team that steamrolled ours had a good game - they deserve the accolade.

I have a kinda crazy approach to this.  Now stay with me here...

If it's a good game I give it a "gg".   If it isn't,  I don't.

Crazy eh?

I only do if it actually is a good, closely contested game and will do it win or lose.

Yep, same for me. If its a steamroll or otherwise crappy game, I don't GG.

I'll "gg" on close games when time is about to expire and preventing the loss is impossible because the enemy has smartly disengaged.  I usually head back to port soon as I die though, so I tend to only "gg" on a loss if I am still alive.

Very rarely will I publicly gg. In order for that to happen, I have to be of the opinion that both teams played very well, and not just have it be a close match.
