Generic thoughts on t6-10 cl Captain skills and I know the line isnt out yet. We bought we could kick some ideas around. Only line that compares is the Russian cl line. I have the MK and will import some of those experiences. Will throw out ideas at the each level. Help me narrow it down

1. PT maybe PM

2. EM at least at the Cleveland. T9-10 might not. AR

3. DE, SI, Vig, don’t think BFT is all that great

4. CE, AFT, IFHE

my thought on the Cleveland.

1. PT

2. EM

3. DE will use premium consumables in leu of SI

4. CE and IFHE are mandatory. AFT?

To aft or not which makes a decides on SI and AR

i feel like the us aa I s too good not to have aft but I don’t have it on the MK because it’s best in t8 and has dfaa plus cv are hit and miss.

Thoughts on the Captain builds for the new America cls?

I maybe wrong but CE is probably as close to essential as it gets.

I like btf but I read de is pretty essential with ifhe.

Good call on JoAT

Need to see the final stats. The current T6 Cleveland needs EM desperately. Will the uptiered version? What is the turret traverse rate? Even if the T8 Cleveland doesn't end up needing it. I'm guessing the new T6 and 7 might.

I agree with wstugamd, CE at the new tier will be even more of a requirement due to the more deadly foes the ship will face. I took IFHE first at T6. Might be a tougher choice at T8.

1. Priority Target

2. AR or JoaT

3. SI and DE.  Swap DE for AFT if running heavy AA build.

4. IFHE and CE

Remember that the CLs get access to Radar AND Hydro AND DFAA, so SI > Vig in this case.  IFHE is basically mandatory.

Concealment expert, demolition expert, and expert marksman are hard skills to pass on, but then again everyone has their own way of doing things. It largely depends on what role you want to play. I will want to be a flyswatter when running CL American. If I want to be a gunnery assassin, I will do CA instead.

Considering the role I am going for, here is my reasoning. Expert Marksman does nothing for the AA, but Jack gets DF back up fast, and AR improves my rate of AA fire to offset damaged gun losses. Similar argument against DE. As for Concealment expert, the point of the build is to division with a CV and post up near map center as an obstacle for enemy planes. I want the planes to fly over me, or avoid me and take longer traversing the map. Either way, concealment is kind of pointless in this situation.

If you are playing these like a Des Moines, then yes, CE is a must. However, for me personally, if I am looking for that kind of battle, I will be in Baltimore/Buffalo/Des Moines instead.
