DDs: Rush into the middle of the enemy formation. Don't smoke, don't scout, make sure you all get wiped out in the first 3 minutes.

CAs: Follow DDs, but better, lone-wolf into a squadron of 6 enemy BBs and don't ever maneuver. Make sure you never ever ever escort BB and protect them from enemy DDs.

CVs: Hide behind a island, don't use your fighters to scout and seek out enemy torp planes. Instead, find creative ways to lose all your fighters within the first 10 minutes of the game so you can drift your torp planes aimlessly for fear of losing them.

BBs: If you are USN, just rush ahead and get sunk. If you are IJN, brawl like a maniac. If you are German, snipe.

Anyway this is how my teammates always fight. Amazing they cling on to that doctrine 100% unwilling to make the slightest changes.

A lot of island humping cruisers need to realize following DDs NEAR caps is not a bad way to play. The trick is to know YOUR OWN CAMO RATING, so you know where the line of no return is.

Experience from playing cruisers recently:

  Baltimore 9 CA/CL USA 48 64.58% 57,566 1,920 2.8 1.2 0.6 56% 33% 0% 1,547

Shows that aggressively supporting your DDs as close as possible yields very good results.

One of the strength of cruisers is accurate and quick (relative) firing guns. The guns are great for killing DDs as well as finishing wounded enemies.

A confident cruiser captain should support their DDs initial push. Then after enemy DDs are dead, exploit the cruisers' camo, dashing in and out of detection and finish off wounded enemies as well as punishing broadsiding cruisers on the red team.

None of that island corner humping business.

For a second there I thought you might have made some post about how to communicate with your teammates, or you know, other helpful stuff. Was ready to give a little thumbs up and everything.

But nope, just another useless salty post. Good job OP. You added absolutely nothing.

Well if we're mining salt and oozing sarcasm, another really good way to "help" your teammate is to charge headlong into the smoke your friendly destroyer laid, strike them amidships, and push them in front of you - broadside - like some sort of bulldozer-blade meatshield for what seems to the poor old destroyer captain like an eternity.

F the guy who did that to me, and I hope he gets reduced to 74% and detonated in every game he plays this year.

I do my part!    I type in chat "let's cover A and B cap"

And sail straight to C!

Bonus points if you do smoke, sit inside it, get torped, then scream at your team for not supporting you, regardless of the fact that they can't see the ships you want hit because your smoke blocks LOS.

My fave, and I've seen it happen twice today, is Okinawa. The A cap. EVERYONE agrees to go BC and leave A, cuz it's a trap you cannot escape. Entire team sits directly behind B while one DD, against ALL good advice and pleading, goes A...and a cruiser follows. Teams sits dead still behind B. Another DD goes to C (me), and is overwhelmed by red ships. Team keeps sitting behind B. Reds cap B and C. Team keeps sitting behind B until we just plain lose.

This happens A LOT. Why?? What is so attractive about sitting behind B?? What is so scary about C cap? Why do two guys always go to A cap and get stuck there after they were warned??

God, I hate Okinawa. I'm also angry at the OP for making me think of Okinawa. I need a drink...
