With the looming shut down of the Emeryville CA office, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the employees for their hard work and wish them luck in their future endevours.

I hope that Wargaming will get us more anime stuff there at their new office, Texas is a big area for the dubbing industry so it would be easy to start talking to people there. It also is the home of Rooster Teeth, and I'm sure they would love to work with Wargaming. What? I'm a RWBY fan and i love the idea of having them appear in-game somehow. Even suggested it in @Pigeon_of_War's weekly thought thread about adding more anime content. I actually suggest giving it a read beside a few trolling jerks there are actually some great ideas here.

What was the impetus for this move?  CA taxes, etc?

My guess is the taxes and the cost of living there.

ENOUGH with the anime crap. Surely there are anime games you can play without trying to inject more of it into a Naval Combat game. Seeing so many adult men who seem to have a fetish for young cartoon girls is really creepy.

The people at Wargaming had to live through the horrors of communism once. The people's republic of California is not a place to run a business.

Is that a joke? Literally 4 of the 5 most valuable companies on Earth are based in California.

Those companies would quadruple their value if they left the Peoples Republic Of California.

Granted I never had to live in a communist country however, I have friends who had to ESCAPE Romania in the early 80's. The stories they tell about life in a communist country are eye-opening. I don't think there is any coincidence that EVERY communist country had to build walls to keep the people in. Communism and Socialism are failed ideologies that are great on paper, they just do not work in real life.

Bunch of folks in this country right now think socialism would be great, and they are positive they will get it right this time.

Same sentiments here.

Growing up, my parents taught me that communism is a form of evil that is not to be glorified. The reason being, my parents came from a poor country where they constantly feared attacks from communist terrorists trying to topple the government. It's what made them flee the country and legally immigrate to a rich, first-world democracy in the first place, and I thank them for that.

Hence, whenever I see privileged dimwits (usually leftist teenagers or college students who have never experienced real adult life) from the US or any other well-off western country praising and advocating for communism, I lose all respect for that person's intelligence and dignity.

Call me rough or harsh. I don't care really. But there's no way in hell you can ever convince me that communism is good when HISTORY itself and millions of casualties surpassing the Holocaust argues against that statement.

Not to mention Communist regimes have killed more of their own people than people have been killed in the name of religion. If Communism was so great how come all of those regimes had a "Secret" police. Organizations that ruled through terror and oppression.

True.

I have a Polish friend, and when he's asked about his sentiments on socialism and communism, his blood pretty much boils in anger.

He too hates communism with a passion because of how much his parents and grandparents suffered under it.

You mean like our FISA courts, plethora of TLAs hoovering up American data, extra judicial drone murders and off shore torture facilities like Guantanamo?

The US is FAR from blameless.

Irrelevant.

All countries have their faults and flaws, including all democracies in the world.

That doesn't change the fact that communism is a failed form of government that provides nothing but suffering and misery to its victims.

Perhaps you need to learn some more history. Better yet, have a good chat with older people who actually lived through and survived communist regimes in the past.

Yes, but the cost in taxes to run a business there are amongst the highest in the country.  Texas, on the other hand, doesn't even have a corporate income tax.  This makes Texas a much friendlier state to do business in so I'm not really surprised by the move.

Of course, being in California has certain advantages, but a competitive tax rate isn't one of them.
