After looking at the initial stats it seems I will be getting a free Port slot from the Dallas. In no way does a worse ship stats wise than the Cleveland seem even remotely like a keeper. Sh#+#y shell arcs with short range and a low RoF. Yeah the stats maybe the initial ones but they aren't going to get magically awesome with upgrades. Just slightly better.

There’s no maybe. All ships posted on the dev blog are stock stats. I would wait until we find it the upgraded stats before jumping to any conclusions.

But these are forum warriors, and very opinionated ones at that. They're going to make threads announcing their displeasure with anything WG does at every stage no matter what more reasonable people think, say or do. Remember, the internet is neither porn nor pipes nor cats, it's soapboxes.

From the Dev blog:

Quote

All stats are listed without crew and upgrade modifiers but with best available modules. The stats are subject to change during the testing.

That said, its too early to jump into conclusions, 7.3 hasn't even hit the servers yet.

There is a little thing called "In testing" look it up before posting a whining rant like this.

Yeah but that requires a modicum of patience and critical thought before they spew their opinions. That's asking a lot.

True. Heck this ship might actually be very good as well, despite the stats. Look at Vampire. Besides I can try to get a spark of thought going Lert. It is a long shot but I can try.

Small problem with that as Lert said

Based on some of the posts I am seeing these players aren't going to be happy unless the new US cruisers are blatantly overpowered.  Things like objecting to a 10s reload on a 15 gun ship at Tier VII and demanding that it be as fast as it was in reality, balance be damned.

10s reload with the worst shell velocity of any cruiser guns at its tier, in exchange for three more barrels that will almost never be in position to fire unless you swing full broadside and wait for one turret to complete its 180 degree backwards rotation. Rudder shift is poor, AA is middling, armor is inconsequential when it’s a huge target for BB autopens and HE spam from the likes of Shchors.

Yes I understand these are just for testing, but damn they have set the bar extremely low for the first round. Dallas and Seattle are looking downright bad so far as well, and the tier 8 Cleveland is relatively uninspired at the moment. If this is the best WG can do, then all we have done is exchange a nerfed Cleveland at tier 6 for a nerfed Helena at tier 7. Square peg in a round hole. Time will tell during testing, but first impressions are not great.

I'm going to wait until I can play these USN CL's before rendering any opinion on how good they may be.  I'll just be happy to have a new line to play, because I suspect that I'll have completed some of my current grinds by the time they come out.

OTOH, I don't know if I'll bother playing any of the down tiered existing USN CA's, given that I've already ground the line completely.  I might ... might ... consider trying out the new tier 9 CA though.  I might just wait and see what people think of her before committing to a tier 9 I don't need to play because I have the tier 10 in that line.

Yep. Designed-not-started or never-finished ships (e.g. Lion) have a bit of stretch in them because we can elect to accept the assurances of their designers; they are spared the verdict of history. Detailed-concept ships (e.g. Minotaur) that were intended but never progressed to orders or draughtsmen have even more stretch, but ships that were built and fought and for which weapon system performance data are known and available can only be buffed so far before they break suspension of disbelief.

Rather than relying on the opaque waffle, why not correct your original, plainly stated, post?

mad because you cant seal club in that new boat like you do everything else. 1145 battles in a t4 DD must be nice to seal club a lot.

Back to the real topic. WG dont care about your opinion never has, and never will. Your statement is full of alternate facts that would make Trump and Conway proud. As stated by others who know more with less battles these are base stats and as we all know line ships will have hull, gun, range, and speed upgrades along the way. To put it perspective the base clevlabnd range is like what 13.3 stock, base reload stock is 10 seconds

Dallas stock:

Hit points – 28300. Plating - 16 mm. Armor belt – 89 mm. Torpedo damage reduction – 4%.

Main battery - 2х2 152 mm, 2x3 152 mm. Firing range – 14.3 km. Maximum HE shell damage – 2200. Chance to cause fire – 12%. Maximum AP shell damage - 3200. Reload time - 10 s. 180 degree turn time - 22.5 s. Maximum dispersion - 132 m. HE initial velocity - 812 m/s. AP initial velocity - 762m/s. Sigma value – 2.0.

AA defense - 14x1 20 mm, range - 2.0 km, damage per second - 50. 6x2 40 mm, range - 3.5 km, damage per second - 68. 2x1 127 mm, range - 5.0 km, damage per second - 16. 2x2 127 mm, range - 5.0 km, damage per second - 30.

Maximum speed - 32.5 kt. Turning circle radius - 650 m. Rudder shift time – 8.0 s. Surface detectability – 11.9 km. Air detectability – 6.8 km. Detectability after firing main guns in smoke – 5.6 km.

So stock Dallas is better than stock Cleveland. go figure
