why not subs

I have always thought the game was cool, but felt it was missing something that made the game feel kinda not real or even close to real. You have all the ships plus carriers and planes, vary cool, but we all know that SUBS played a massive role in the fight on the water. There should be subs to make it so the play seems more real with all ships able to drop bombs on them as well as making the subs have to go to periscope lever to get air and take a shot, that makes them able to be spotted, and the speed under the water is slower and better speeds what not under. plus the only way they can see is with periscope and sonar sounds under water. I know it can be done to make it fair and hard. Just needs some thought.

Subs don't fit with the gameplay and were primarily used as commerce raiders. This has been discussed ad nauseum. Check the search if you want to learn more.

Thing is, submarines were so often discussed and proposed, and always turned down. Any point or solution you might have at this point has likely been brought already.

That alone should tell you that your solution, or way of implementing, would not work.

I did search ( submarines ) I saw nothing posted. I maybe new at this game but atleast I have respect for others and would not be knocking others with trash talk or try to belittle someone just because that person could not find the post, I would have copied and paste where the topic was. Weird. I searched "submarines" and got ~8400 posts where the term was used, one topic about implementing them two hours before your post, and one topic about the same from Monday. Just on te front page.

Lol had to smile when reading this since depending on how much about naval warfare in WWII readers know the explaination that subs were mainly commerce raiders may not hold up too well. Since subs were not the only Commerce Raiders. Surface Warships like Graf Spee, Sharnhorst, Gneisenau, Bismarck, Tirpitz, and Prinz Eugen to name a few were used in Commerce raiding and as well as other warfare. Granted some of the ships I listed never got to sink any merchant ships, but were at least attempting to do so. For that matter even aircraft were sometimes used as commerce raiders.

But I of course know what you were trying to say lol.

 With  most of the in game maps and likely underwater terrain. Subs would be like fish in a barrel for Destroyers and Cruisers to depth charge to death, not to mention how many ships carry hydro to listen for enemy vessels. If a sub were to surface in game it would have every gun, Torpedo tube, and bomber sending ordnance at it. Subs also had basically no armor at all so killing a sub in game would be extremely easy.

Now to be fair to those that ask for subs I would say subs getting added would be 100% impossible in all game modes except maybe if Operations were made at some point.

Because Dunkirk Operation had E-Boats ( German version of PT boats) as well as minefields. And since players were given special Destroyers to use in the Operation it could be possible that some kind of sub hunting escort operation could be done someday. Other than specially made operation we will never see subs in game.

The problem is the question has been asked what seems like at least once a week.  I've been part of the forum since Sept 2015.  It gets very tiring to constantly repeat, and repeat the same old tired argument over and over again. 

It becomes, oh look, here it is again.

I would like to see that, actually, but there is no way I'd want to play a sub.  With an underwater speed of 8 - 10 knots you're going to spend the entire battle pretty much where you started and the only ships you get to fire at are those that stray into your path.  Try stealth torping in an IJN DD with the engines off to see how much fun that would be.
