Ive just purchased the 49inch Samsung monitor with the 32:9 curve, and when im using that ratio the screen seems to be stretched (ships look bloated) but the UI is fine. Even when i change it to 21:9 there is some slight stretching, but not as much as before. 16:9 looks as to be expected from what im used to playing on before. Anyone else having these kinda issues with their ultrawides? Left picture is 32:9 and right is 21:920180309_071754.thumb.jpg.74787f42113d6eb47047bb47931a7999.jpg20180309_071544.thumb.jpg.7391582b0c763faeab8794e293190894.jpg

I mean it's hard to see much here, but from what I can see the bottom one would be what I'd use.

Every once in a while I'll notice a slight fish eye effect at edges of my 34" 1440P display, but nothing as pronounced as your photo on the left. Yikes.

It would seem that i forgot about the trusty "turn it on and off again" trick... Switching the window mode a few times fixed it xD20180309_074543.thumb.jpg.2dfe31c2457067e4a9108fcd0827494f.jpg

Yeah that ship doesn't look stretched, but you can see so much more, looks like fun :cap_cool:

21:9 Monitor used to do this a lot until you were given the option to select 21:9.

I think "Auto" is your best bet, and hope that it doest try to set it to 16:9 like it did with my monitor.

The sides are still Stretched, feels like you are in a fish bowl or maybe one of them 120 degrees cameras. Not sure if the human eye does that to the sides. The image becomes normal as you focus on the item. For example, item in middle of the screen is perfect, the more it moves to your right/left the more stretched it becomes.

I am still debating if I like it, right now I am having power issues with the monitor. It won't power up after it has been off for a number of hours. Testing to see what the issue is, is also a pain since I can only do one test every 5+ hours.

I have one of those 49" Ultra Wide monitors on order... just for World of Warships. My Acer 35" Predator monitor just not wide enough for complete immersion!!! Cannot wait...

The funny thing is that the 1st 49" ultra ultra wide monitors are simply $500 55" 4K TVs that is cut in half. So they're basically selling you a $250 TV for $1000. Whoever invented it was a marketing genius.

The new QHD gaming 49" displays are certainly interesting...(5120x1440) and might cause me to swap my setup finally.

The slight fisheye thing at the edges is, so far as I can tell, not something that you can really get away from.

For quite some time (until I went 4K) I used 3x 27" 1080p monitors side-by-side-by-side for gaming, and even though you can eventually get the display ratio correct (there's some settings I had to tweak in the .ini files, but I can't remember what they were), it was never possible to get the very edges of the display to not be stretched out.

there used to be a very, very useful mod in Aslain's that would relocate a bunch of things based on using that setup, but it went away a long while back. Sad, really, because it was fantastic to have the chat out of the way, but keep the important stuff on the center screen, and have the minimap semi-transparent but taking up half of the right-side monitor.

I've had no problem with my 21:9 curved Alienware monitor in WoWS. I was skeptical of ultrawide monitors but it was on sale and I tend to buy things at 2am like that.

But 32:9 ratio? That seems crazy to me. Support for it probably isn't nearly as common as 21:9 is.

What beast of a video card do you have to run that thing?

You are drastically changing the aspect ratio without changing the Field of View.  The game doesn't have the ability to change FOV, AFAIK, and wargaming titles aren't known to do ultrawide properly (according to the widescreen gaming forum link cited in the wiki article).

‘You can change FOV. The settings are buried in an ini, but it’s no real problem. You still get fisheye around the edges though.

I have one of those new Nvidia RTX cards. They can run three of those 49" and barely spin up a cooling fan...
