Tabletop riverine/littoral war games?

Really anything from 1860s ironclads to modern day.

 

however Vietnam era feels like it would be a sweet spot but am also kind of enthralled by the idea of a riverine/littoral combat game that takes place between 1880s-1905 or one with similar weapons and technology of the period so steampunk isn’t out of the question either as long as it’s not too flamboyantly steampunk

I'd like to say yes, but no.  Victory Games' Vietnam has riverine combat, but in a larger context. 

Are you looking for boardgames specifically?

Miniature based.

something between the naval version of axis and allies, and warhammer 40k. In play style and scale

Check out Seekrieg... it is a miniatures based naval warfare game with a ton of detail..

again looking for riverine/littoral small vessel work.

PTs and minesweepers etc. PBRs and the vietnam era riverine assault boats etc.

vietnam would be a preferred
