I am curious to see how carrier will be played. I think I'll try out all the classes and see what fits me the best. If they are anything like arty in WoT they will cause me so much rage when I am on the receiving end.

Carriers will be like arty, sit in the back and launch planes. Not rush head long into battle; do that and you're dead.

Personally, I'm thinking carrier mechanics will be a lot like artillery in World of Tanks: long range distance attacks.  I'm just guessing here but I cant see them wanting to get very close for any CQ combat.  I can see a "top down" view much like arty where you target an enemy ship and click the mouse to "send out your planes" and an animation of planes takes off.  They swoop out attacking the target causing various levels of damage then the animation is the planes returning to the home carrier.  So if you play WoT and like playing arty then I think carriers will be your thing.

I see Battleships mechanics like the big, slow heavies of WoT: Slow manuverability due to heavy armor but massive alpha damage and slow RoF.

And of course the Cruisers will be the WoT equivalent of the medium tanks: moderate armor making agile flankers with low alpha but good RoF.

And the Destroyers will be like the WoT equivalent of light tanks: fast, light armored, agile scouts with small guns and fast RoF.

i dont know if any of this has been already posted by someone else, so I apologize if it has.  And just to reiterate: all of this is pure speculation on my part about WoWs mechanics.

Carry on...  :Smile_honoring:

I'll try out all the classes. I'll play all the ones that I enjoy, and if I enjoy all the classes, then I'll play them all.

I've heard arty will be RTS-y, sounds interesting. At least you can shoot down the planes though...can't shoot down arty shells...

The space bar, you should use it after punctuations.

Pretty much you can consider the Carrier like an SPG in the idea that it will sit back and affect the battlefield from long distances. As well as probably get torn apart by anything with a large deck cannon that gets close.

Personally, I will probably go super heavy on fighters (if not all fighters). Because if there is one thing some navel games (or tactical fighters in general) have taught me, is that planes with higher damage potential will be spammed. So dedicating myself to disrupting enemy aircraft will probably be better for me and my team.

I'll probably have mix of aircraft, but there one carrier aircraft that may be a good idea are Japan's auto-gyros.They've said they won't have it but why.

I'm planning to mainly play carriers, aiming for the Shinano. That's as long as - since the game isn't out - I don't find out A) the playstyle doesn't work for me, and/or B) I suck with carriers.

I'll probably play everything though, there's no reason not to.

I really don't think the ship types translate well to WoT equivalents anymore. As we gain more and more information I'm convinced that thinking this game will be the same as WoT but on water will get you repeatedly sunk.

Nothing is AI in WoT. Most things about the aircraft interactions with ships appear to be AI so that is a big difference. Carriers are NOT SPGs, Battleships and Cruisers are.

And yes I will play carriers

and battleships

and cruisers

and destroyers

and weird hybrid seaplane carriers

and oddball premium ships

and I hope very very soon.   :Smile_playing:

I'll play carriers any time they're the most important warship in the world due to it's ability to launch aircraft ,and i won't like a awesome machine like that be called an arty piece if you watched Battle 360 enterprise episodes you're probably gonna win every match if you didn't I sugest that you don't play carriers. I will adimit my favorites in WoWs carriers,Battleships, batllecruisers.

The most epic carrier of WWII is the Enterprise try 20 battle stars the most earned EVER!!!! oh yeah.. if you didnt watch Battle 360 Enterprise and want to be a carrier get studying on the tactics  involved. :Smile_sceptic:

Well, Honestly, I was REALLY looking forward to playing submarines. But since that hope has been RUTHLESSLY CRUSHED by WG, yes, I will probably play aircraft carriers.
