8. To launch the replay, close the game client first

9. After closing the game, use drag'n'drop *.wowreplay file to WorldOfWarships.exe or associate file extention with the game executable.

10. Every battle generates separate replay file. Port cannot be recorded.

11. You can play the *.wowsreplay file with the same client version only. Replays might not work properly with newer version of the game client.

12. Replay controls:

'Insert' & 'Delete' for playing speed control
'End' for pause (which is actually x100 slower speed)
 'Home' for normal speed
'LMB' for toggling camera direction between free & recorded
'>' & '<' for fast-forward & rewind (can be used together with 'Ctrl')

Easy to understand??

Do I overwrite the EXE file?  How do I get it started?  Seems we missed a few steps here.  1-7 are how to turn on recording.

You literally drag the icon for the replay and drop it on the icon for world of warships. The game will then launch and load you into battle.

Nothing gets overwritten.

You can also right click the replay and chose to open it with the application "world of warships"

In older operating systems, that would overwrite the file.  Was hesitant to do that.

Here is my update unless someone else is going to supercede mine:

REPLAY CONTROLS as of 2/25/2018

Here are the controls for REPLAY as best as I know it. The ones on WOW are way outdated and some keys will crash
your system.

Anyways..the replay will play...keys to control replay are:

HOME - replay at normal speed
END - replay at the SLOWEST speed. You cannot pause..just go the slowest.
INSERT - Speesd up the replay
DELETE - slow down the replay

To detach your view from the fixed view - click in the center with left mouse button.
Hit together right CTRL and SHIFT on bottom lower right..while pressed down hit BACKSPACE
You are detached and now can roam while your in battle. Do this in normal speed as if its too slow you may not
see what you are doing.

Numeric keypad.
7 will make you elevate
9 will make you lower
4 will rotate left
6 will rotate right
5 tilt down
8 tilt up
pageup or number key 1=  zoom in
pagedn or number key 3 = zoom out
Arrow keys:
left - pan left
right - pan right
up - forward
down - reverse back

Notes:

< Claims it REWINDS - it does not work.
> Skips forward 10 sec

Your ship is the only one with no ICON info - just bare ship if still alive in Freecam mode
Lost your ship? Just press the ctrl-shift and back space to put you on the bridge again.

Ctrl-G = removes the GUI interface

Ok guys I have steam... I got to the part of recording the replays and see the files of the games... but when I try to drag it over onto worldofwarships.exe it says error can't open file using this app... could it be with steam or am I using the wrong .exe? I wished I would've downloaded the game from the webpage instead of steam cause I can't figure out the mods either... any help would be awesome!!!! I'll try to get screen shots when I kicked my daughter off the labtop.

Hi,

Firs of all you should have the replay enabled. The replay files are stored in C:\Games\World_of_Warships\replays (on windows 10, if you use the default install). The names of the files are like this 20180804_231405_PGSC110-Hindenburg_16_OC_bees_to_honey.wowsreplay

You can ease the access by associating extension wowsreplay with the application WorldOfWarships.exe . After this when you double click on a replay file it will start automatically.

Also, if you run Aslain mod pack replays are saved and can be launched just by clicking on the file. No need to drag anything anywhere.
Before I started running the mod pack, I changed the game preferences to enable replays. I was going to link the video I used, but found this video and think it will be more helpful to more people. It shows the old way and the new way.

I find it easier to figure things out by watching rather than reading. If you have that issue as well, please enjoy the video.

Good luck and happy hunting!
