I think you guys miss the point.  What he's saying is this division was specifically created to shut down strike by aircraft.  I understand the desire to do so in normal play and lord knows the Kii needs the help but with this being the Corgi event,  thats kinda dirty.

Course judging from this screen shot that match was a lost cause anyway but still...

Actually...it (this div) was specifically created to shut down strike by aircraft...to 1 ship (the corgi).

Should have been an easy victory to wipe out rest of team...if the green teams CV (OP) wasn't JUST trying to score the corgi kill.

Agree it's not in the spirit of the event but sounds like OP is just mad that he probably lost all his planes w/out getting any kills because he kept sending them at the only ship that the red CV "hovered near by" w/his fighters.

There is a fine line between getting annihilated by the CV because of too little AA, and making it rain planes because of too much AA.  if the corgi was driving the bama, it would probably mean the enemy cv couldn't touch it no matter what else was going on.

I doubt there are many corgis out there who are trying to make sure that they are ineligible kills.  They want to give prizes out, but they also want to help their team win.  Striking a balance so you win but die isn't always easy.  I suspect this is a case of inferring too much from the construction of the division.

Agree, and we need to remember there is no requirement that the Corgi yolo in and die easily.   So you have to work for your kill, makes it interesting.

And if they all yolo'd in and died easily anyone on the corgi team would not be impressed.

i've seen some corgis apply this against the spirit of the event through different means, has left a bad taste really and it usually ruins the match when people were chasing an impossible carrot on a stick just like OP's pic, I guess some of them are trolls but it's really leaving a bad aftertaste

I was expecting something like a Corgi "fail - division" from earlier today when they were in low Tier DDs.

Think that would have been amusing...

Something like a Corgi in a -Kaze div'ed with the Big E and pulled into a T9 match or something.

A -Kaze with CE is still stealthier than a Z-46...

---

Sure while what you've witness does "suck" IF I was on the Corgi's team and I had no Corgis to "Toss in the water"... I'd be doing my absolute best to Escort and Defend that ship regardless if it was a Div Mate or not.

I like playing spoiler... if there's no Red Corgis for me to sink and earn dubloons, I'm sure as hell going to do my best that the Reds also have no chance; or at least a lesser.

I'm wondering how this is ruining the spirit of the event. The Corgis are out there for you to hunt, but they won't go down easily. You have to work for it. They're not there to hand out themselves on a silver platter. If the Enterprise was defending the Kii Corgi like there was no tomorrow then that would have been an interesting challenge to overcome.

How does that old saying go? Working hard has it's rewards?

I'll be honest: I think the entire event is... slightly misguided. The problem with the corgis is that because only the person who gets the kill shot receives any kind of award, it encourages players to recklessly pursue eliminating just that target, rather than, say, go for objectives, or killing weaker/more vulnerable foes. Divisioning arguably just allows the corgi captain to further take advantage of that inherent incongruity.

I can only speak for myself, but I have never enjoyed the corgi weekends, and am always happy to see them in the rear view mirror.

Well, thanks for your opinion. I'm sure this feedback would be appreciated by the higher ups.

I don't want you to take my post as being mean-spirited, so please don't interpret it that way. I think other players enjoy this event. I just... always prefer to see the corgi on my team, rather than the other way around :P.

Oh no, I wasn't coming off that way. I understand how you feel. The event isn't perfect, but at least we can improve on it if we have enough feedback about it.

In my humble opinion. The Corgi concept is well received and I hope that it can be extended to say OPERATIONS to where you escort a corgi to an objective. In regular battle yeah it can improve but its still fun

Corgi stacking Divisions with an Enterprise that does nothing but protect him from enemy CV

So you're mad that you spent the entire match trying to kill the corgi instead of trying to win, and you failed? If their CV was doing nothing but protecting that one ship, then your team should have had quite the advantage and should have done a lot better than you did. Scalped 3 corgis in the last 2 nights, myself lol.
